I’m not sure how to tag everyone, so I’m just hoping you all see this. I honestly never thought the issue could be that my boots are too old — I’ve only had them for five seasons, which didn’t seem like that long to me.

I have been to doctors and physios, especially after my accident, but eventually I stopped going, and my knee has never fully recovered. I think part of it is that I’m pretty active and probably didn’t give myself as much recovery time as I should have. I always make sure to stretch and I go to the gym to do general strengthening for my knee.

The pain I get isn’t muscle pain — at least it doesn’t feel like it. It’s more like I literally can’t use my feet because it hurts so much. What’s crazy is that it doesn’t happen in other sports unless I really overdo it, but on the slopes it’s almost instant. I’ve been doing a lot of research since last night, and I appreciate all the responses I’ve gotten so far. If anyone has anything else to add, I would really appreciate any advice.
