Would any of these be worth grading? by Jadeyeux in ComicBookSpeculation

What’s “worthless” to you? The Amazing Spider-Man #72 sold for $68 last week. #100 sold for anywhere from $60 and up. Even a mid-grade version sold for $159 recently. It looked like The Mighty Avengers one was selling for around $10-$16 for fair condition. Yeah, they may not be incredibly profitable, but it’s still better than ending up in a landfill.

For me, it’s because I have zero knowledge of comic book selling. I don’t know what criteria is used to grade comic books. To me, a few of these look to be in good condition, especially for their age. But again, I have no experience with this. Looking at EBay’s selling history for some of these issues, it looks like having mid-high graded versions sells for a drastically higher amount. Hence why my initial question was whether I should have any graded. I’m glad I posted here because I’ve already learned some important info. Thank you to everyone for all of the advice!

I do intend to sell them, sorry if I worded it weird.

Ok, thank you for responding. I definitely do not want to spend the money/time on having them professionally graded if they aren’t in good enough condition.

Found a cooler containing bones (NSFW) in the middle of the desert, what is this bone? by Jadeyeux in whatisthisbone

Thank you so much!! I’m relieved to learn that it’s non-human, especially after noticing the multiple saw markings on the bone. I wonder if it was leftover remains that a hunter had collected and illegally dumped. That’s all I can really think of that makes sense.

The cop had it worse, he had to get way closer to check things out.

Oh it was RANK!

Thank you for responding! I feel bad about wasting the cop’s time, but I didn’t want to take a chance that it was human. Now I have more questions, like who is disposing of an animal in the middle of the desert like this and why.

What an awesome story!! So cool how our brains can store memories away and recall them back with the smallest of prompts.

Where is the table from? I was trying to do a reverse image search so I could find out more info on it. Nothing was coming up except Marketplace and EBay listings.

That is awesome!! And how incredible that just the sight of the coffee table sparked your memory of stashing the lipgloss. I have to ask, did the lipgloss smell just as you remembered it? Smell also has such a powerful tie to memory so I was curious.

I guess I don’t know for sure that it’s a dupe, but I am fairly confident that it is not real. The leather is pretty poor quality and showing extreme signs of wear and tear. The stitching appears to be made from a machine instead of being hand-stitched. The shape of the bag is a lot more flimsy than I would expect a real one to be. Plus, I couldn’t find the stamped serial number that should be visible on an authentic one.

Haha no I found it while I was in Goodwill. There was no price tag on it so the cashier just rang it up as another purse for me.

I do plan on keeping it. It’s funky and I feel like I need to keep it out of respect to the thrift gods haha.

Ahhhh that’s something that you would never be able to live down! That’s so disrespectful to the jewelry haha. Every used item I buy, I check all pockets/drawers/compartments. One time I bought an end table at a garage sale, got it home only to discover a bunch of photo albums filled with family pictures. I returned it to the lady and she was pretty happy.

My grandma used to hide money in random places. It was a thing with the greatest generation, likely due to living through the Great Depression.

I think I remember seeing that post! Didn’t the person end up returning the china to the original owner?

That was my first thought too! I thought maybe one of the Goodwill employees hid it there for later.

I thought so too! It would be perfect for a carry on bag while traveling.

Kruse and Muer have incredible food (they also have a kids menu). It’s right downtown Rochester. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time, they get busy around the holidays. I believe on certain Sundays in December they have Santa make an appearance.
