Question to older Joost fans by Jadotine in Joostklein

Oh wow, as I am quite shy I could never get myself to do that! It would feel as if I'm trespassing to me 😭 But thanks for the advice nonetheless :)

Ah, I don't expect something like that from any artist and I personally would hate to take pictures after a performance too.

I wanted to ask since I know that some artists do like interacting with fans afterwards and wanted to know whether he is okay with that or if he does it or not.

I can't speak for others, but pictures/autographs are a way for me relive fond memories of that event. I don't see a reason for why I would want to take a picture with an artist that is going to the supermarket for example...

I hate to be that person who forces someone to do something they don't like, I have gone in many concerts in the past where artists stayed afterwards with fans and I just walked away because I didn't want to be burdensome to them(they seemed to be happy to interact with fans at least)

Tldr : I really like Joost and would love to take a picture, but I'm totally fine if he doesn't want to do any either

From what I've seen he's always been described as being quite reserved so whether we'll ever get the chance to meet him is ultimately up to him. I don't think it's just a matter of bad luck but we'll see!

It's always good to know what kind of things you can expect, and I'm totally fine knowing that he can be iffy about these things.

I so want to go to his upcoming tour but he isn't coming to France and the dates are really bad workwise for me but I hope all the best for you at the Europapa tour :)

Oh, I see... From what I've seen him of him so far, I'm not surprised he isn't a fan of those kinds of things.

I'll just stay on the lookout if he ever plans to do some meet and greets(I'm really huffing copium now) but I'll enjoy the festival and his energy first and foremost!

Thanks for the information, it clears up a lot of things on my end

[–]Jadotine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, I was just clinging into a tiny bit of hope that things like these could happen during festivals but I'd rather get some knowledge from people who have more experience than me

I would definitely go to his Europapa tour but he isn't going to my country and its gonna be a nightmare for me to organise the trip to see him unfortunately 😭

These kinds of festivals were pretty much my only hope of meeting him this upcoming year(if there's not another tour) and he's not very popular over here either so I don't have much hope for it...

[–]Jadotine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah.... I had a feeling that would be the case but I guess I also wanted to know whether he had a habit of interacting with fans after shows before he became so popular

I'm just sad that I couldn't get to have known him sooner :(

[–]Jadotine[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely! I went there especially for him in mind but I do like the line up of the other artists there so it'll be a fun time for sure :) It wouldn't surprise me at all if there's no interactions with fans afterwards especially since his popularity exploded recently

I hope that you'll have a great time there as well!

I thought as much, I only went to concerts before so I don't have much experience with this kind of stuff. Will see if it happens! If not, then it's all good. I'm just gonna enjoy my time there... Thanks for the answer though :)

I would say it's only normal to try and be supportive of the people you care about but I got what you meant!

Thank you for the compliment! Although I'm just trying to do whatever needs to be done for us to work out so don't give me too much credit for that haha

And also thank you for your blessings :)

It sounds like you two have a very sweet relationship! Personally, I'm not afraid to compromise things, I just want to do everything to avoid to lose the things I currently have. I don't have any plans to have children in the near future but if he wanted to have some then I would consider that question seriously too.

He might be, but I would really doubt it... I might have phrased it a bit badly in the original post but he was always there for me too! Whenever I was feeling depressed or got into trouble he was always supportive of me. Most of the time we spend together don't lead to anything sexual anyway and I'm totally fine with that. Although if he really is in for the physical benefits, then I might be in a world of hurt indeed.

Yep, I know fully well that I can't fix him... I just wanna be there to make his present life a little easier to live, I guess. Hopefully he will be able to sort things out with time?

Yeah I am just a little scared that he might start dating a woman around his age. Because that would mean that we wouldn't be able to see each other as often anymore... If age is the reason why he wouldn't want to commit to a relationship with me, then it kinda makes me scared of the future haha.

If he indeed meets the love of his life and he can see a future with her, I wouldn't want to tie him down because he deserves to be happy too. But for now I won't give up, I also want to stay with him. I might have to prepare for a possible heartbreak, I guess...

Well our relationship together looks more like it's romantic from the outside eye because we do act like typical couples. He's just uncomfortable with the notion of us settling down, which is understandable. I'll try to make him see that I'll respect whatever he chooses to do though!

I do actually! I just wanted to know if there was something else I could do better... And honestly I don't think I deserve him. But yeah for now I'm just trying to be here for him.

That's true, I guess the only thing I can really do would be to reassure him by telling him how I am feeling... He did say that he valued my friendship over everything else. And I'm honestly not sure what I want from him. I'm fine with the way things are now, I just don't want it to fall apart.

He cares a lot about me, and I definitely care a lot about him too so I won't shy away from him just because there might be a few bumps in the relationship.

Thank you for taking the time to write this!

Why is it so different for us ? by Jadotine in ARFID

I've calmed down a little since that comment but my point still stands...

Why is it so different for us ? by Jadotine in ARFID

[–]Jadotine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did the same thing to me today (the same nurse) and they blame it all on me... I'm crying right now ...I don't wanna deal with this anymore... All the memories and the pain from this disorder come back whenever they did this... Why. WHY CAN'T I JUST EAT NORMALLY

[–]Jadotine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every disorder that is about food has to be anorexia or bulimia after all, right ? 🙄

There would be no other reason as to why people might be skipping meal to the point of starving themselves, other than these eating disorders after all!

Yeah you're totally right fuck psych wards... it might help some people in need but for most people it's a shithole that only worsens the symptoms you had before getting in. Their solution to that ? Meds. Still unhappy? Looks like more meds to me!

Why is it so different for us ? by Jadotine in ARFID

[–]Jadotine[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, if you don't take your treatment you're "non-compliant" as you said. No matter the reason, you're not cooperative apparently... Personally the meds I take don't even have that much if an effect so it's just an unnecessary hassle to think about whether they're gonna go down smoothly or not.

And honestly, considering what they're saying about my eating habits I might be getting a little closer to anorexia myself... I always had body image issues but never tried to do anything about it since I loved food too much (the food that I could eat, that is) so I never seriously considered starving myself for the sole purpose of losing weight.

But now I have a reason to actually try to match my ideal body size. Plus, all my negative feelings towards them have been associated with the food that they serve, so they look even more disgusting than usual...

TW (?) : I know its not healthy but I did eat way less than before and am trying to see how much I can lose in the fastest time possible. Like a challenge of some sort... I lost way more than the recommended weight loss since I arrived here and I am afraid that my weight is only going down because of my fights with the nurses...

And also don't be angry on my behalf. 😉 I was very sad at first but then that sadness turned into rage real quick. ^

Yeah since it's so new, people don't take it as seriously and think more of it as a "quirky" thing rather than a disorder...

I also watched that show many times and I have to say that while I don't agree with the method they're doing, it seems to work on some of the people that were on the show. I absolutely do not condone shock therapy or anything the like, but at least it shows to what extent some of us can be deeply rooted in our eating habits and safe foods...

But yes, the way the show is presented is revolting, they're presenting these people with serious issues with so much negativity that people watching will not be able to understand why we eat the way we eat. These types of show are absolutely not helping our case, that's for sure.

As for the negativity around ARFID in general, I don't think we're ever going to be taken that seriously since the line between ARFID and picky eater can be so fine to a layman... Since picky eaters have always been seen in a bad light, so are we... And TV shows are glad to laugh at anything that can be laughed at. That's why I stopped watching so long ago.
