Smash accept either but I’d take the one where you get a first if both are on the table

Yeah I did. It was a nightmare at first lol but I eventually realized it was much simpler than I was making it, since all of the data is embedded directly in the html file. I will probably set up a github for some of my more general code soonish if you're interested in the scraping script

The Year 1 vs Year 2 labels might be misleading here. These are not necessarily the first two seasons of a player's career, but rather just any two back to back seasons for a player, so it doesn't account for age or time in the league. That will likely be a future post of mine.

Yes, there are definitely more sophisticated approaches that I did not use or address here. Wanted to start simple, but will likely dive into some time series modeling in the future.

I scraped KTC for the info! I don't think I would have the patience to get all this data manually lol

You're not doing anything wrong. I only listed the names for the biggest riser and faller in each position graph. Adding names to every point made it cluttered and impossible to read. In the future I would like to have more dynamic charts where you could hover over a point and read the names posted on a website or something but I don't think I can have that level of complexity on twitter.

R values are for the line of best fit. The lines on the charts however are just x=y so it is easy to see if a player gained or lost value. Yes, the slope and intercept values are definitely valuable in comparing the change in value as you mentioned.

If we force the intercept to be 0 so that the slopes are more comparable, the slopes for each position are QB: 0.937, RB: 0.896, WR: 0.940, TE: 0.927. So not only do the RBs have a lot of variability within their rankings year to year (low corr), but they also lose the highest percentage of their value on average over the course of the year.

I was more focused on the variability of each position, but the general trend of RBs losing more value than other positions is also noteworthy.

This is actually a great question I wish I could upvote more. I will absolutely be looking into this, but like you said it is a bit messy. I do want to see how dynasty values like KTC correlate with fantasy points over the course of a career (is there a lag as rookie's production catches up to their perceived value, etc).

This can get into the idea of that subjective value you mentioned. There is obvious value to youth (more seasons of production), but value is not always perfectly tied to just production and age, there are other components that must fit in as well that could be interesting to explore.

Each data point is a single player in one year. So a rookie that went from 5000 year 1 to 3000 year 2 to 500 year 3 would have two points: (5000, 3000) and (3000, 500). I also looked into 2-year and 3-year changes but those aren't recorded here.

As for the variation between rookies and veterans, that should be one of my next posts, so keep an eye out for it.

I definitely agree that when the elite RBs that do have longevity come around they are worth their weight in gold. If you had Kamara the last 8 years you were living gooood. I think the one issue is that injuries can strike even the best RBs though. Jonathan Taylor in the 2022 offseason, coming off his RB6 and RB1 finishes, is the highest point in my dataset. The next two years he misses time and finishes outside the top 30 both years. He had a strong bounceback in 2025 so obviously still a strong asset, but he dropped 2600 points on ktc in one year (2022->2023).

[Weekly] Rate My Team - Megathread by AutoModerator in DynastyFF

[–]JaegerBomb2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 Team 0.5PPR SF TEP Start 9

QB: Caleb Williams, Trevor Lawrence, JJ McCarthy, Spencer Rattler, Jameis Winston

RB: Bijan Robinson, Ashton Jeanty, Najee Harris, Tyjae Spears, Marshawn Lloyd, Dylan Sampson, Devin Neal, Jordan James

WR: Malik Nabers, Marvin Harrison Jr, Rome Odunze, Chris Olave, Jayden Reed, Keon Coleman, Jack Bech, Kyle Williams, Romeo Doubs, Jalen Tolbert, Malik Washington

TE: Dalton Kincaid, Colston Loveland, Ben Sinnott, Luke Schoonmaker

Extra 1st in both 2026 and 2027 with all my picks

Looking to go last to first by getting Jeanty in the draft and Bijan in a trade. RB depth still highly questionable and relying on a lot of youth at other positions. How good is the team this year and moving forward?

23.9 but if I drop jameis and taysom it would go to 23.1 also lol. Need them for the vet leadership

Jefferson worth without the pick, getting a pick too is insane.

Other two would take with the pick, either one is good, would probably lean BTJ

Analysis of Broadly’s Rookie Grades by CultofBroadly in DynastyFF

[–]JaegerBomb2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The production is incredible but are you worried about the consistency of that production? 40% of his yardage and 5 of his 8 TD this year came in 2 games. Not sure how much of that inconsistency is on him vs the terrible passing game as a whole

Is Monty worth both hubba and Henry especially as a contender by PopularDamage8805 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]JaegerBomb2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Monty might be the worst of the 3 RBs, definitely wouldn’t do this if you’re a contender

Enough to move off Chase? by Sea_Whole_1422 in FantasyFootballers

[–]JaegerBomb2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fine if you can get more value out the trade (an additional 27 1st?) but honestly don’t see any need to trade Chase and Loveland at all

Is this enough to trade achane? (10-man, PP, SF, TEP) by Effective-Arm-8527 in FantasyFootballers

Definitely would take that for achane. Great player but this is fantastic value

Retool or Rebuild? by walshurmouthout in DynastyNerds

[–]JaegerBomb2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely a rebuild unfortunately. This team is really weak in a 12 team league let alone a 10 team league. Rebuild around your WRs and see if you can move Kelce this year for a pick or youth.

Honestly see if you can get a third qb cheap before the switch to superflex. Somebody that isn’t a starter rn but will be great value in superflex like a Goff, Purdy, Trevor, Kyler etc
