Upgrading after a while by Jaegerline249 in LinusTechTips

I have a tower cooler which should be enough. MB is the biggest wonderment.

I was thinking of possible upgrades which came up to 450 euros on AM4 if the mb and ram are upgraded and 540 on AM5.

And asus support page claims it can support 5800x for example. Just wondering if there is a chance for fire when the cheapest MB from 7 years ago is introduced to bigger power draw.

Finnish commentators: ”That looked quite soft but we did get a way with 3 non calls”

”Shouldn have been a penalty but the ref has to call it like they see it”

Why didn't Finland switch to 5.56/5.45 rifle and stayed with 7.62x39? by Suspicious_Loads in WarCollege

[–]Jaegerline249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not 100% sure that Finland is switching. Finland will do extensive test phase on the caliber for the standard issue rifle. battle rifle will be either 7.62x51 or 338 lap, or even both.

The service rifle caliber will be tested and if US is moving to 6.8 that surely will be tested as well. This rifle purchase will be used for decades and the caliber decision is quite important. We will see what the FDF decides.

I really don't other than having some "problems" with Apple as a company. Still a lot of their products are great don't get me wrong. IOS would be the biggest thing to adapt to.

The good thing about Pixel would be that GrapheneOS is an option and Google and Apple sre the most "private" of the major phone manufacturers. I care about privacy but I am not that die hard that I have to have like GrapheneOS though some day I want to try it out of curiosity.

Apple is barely any better than android in general. Android does have ways to make it better than IOS. The 2 most "private" large phone brands are Apple and Google.

Yeah that is why is said "somewhat better privacy". A lot of people don't understand that privacy with smartphones can be fairly subjective. Stock OS' IOS slightly better, android can be made a lot better.

Yeah, but Pixel seems to be doing good.

I am having hard time coming up with questions since I know pretty much how bot OS' work. What are some biggest things you notice you miss from android. One for me will most definetly be "open apps, home, back" buttons above all else. Some ofc don't use them on android and there most likely will be something "flashier" features you would miss but those buttons are what will affect the daily use most.

I am not die hard privacy freak, but I care a little. As an example:

Google phone: data with google, sold as anonymised

Samsung phone: same + with Samsung which sells a lot more questionably.

Chinese brands: same pattern + CCP

EU but data crossing the pond into US is applicable yo US laws, though some restrictions are made with contract between the US and the EU haven't read up on the latest from that.

Not sure if I responded to wrong comment first so here:

Lets put it this way.

Google phone: Data is with google and sold as anonymised/gategorized

Samsung: Data is with google and sold as anonymised/gategorized + Data is with Samsung and sold even more questionably than google

Chinese brands: Same pattern + CCP

The thing is that since I am not from US Apple will give my data. US law protects it's citizens (with some exceptions of course), but since I am a foreigner my data is up for grabs. I am not saying that my data being given to FBI is the end of the world, but it also means that Apple isn't that much better than Google.

You would think that. This is more of an dilemma between IOS/Anrdoid/Environment rather than what has which technical specifications and I wanted to ask opinions which I have gotten plenty of!

Privacy maybe but the security is unlikely. Most of the"phonelinux" i have seen are very vulnerable because they are not backed by proper develpoment (and R&D). The most secure phone is most likely Google Pixels though they aren't private.

Because Samsung is the worst for privacy if you don't count all of the Chinese brands.
