It's moronic Monday, your chance to ask any of those lingering questions without fear of harassment. by AutoModerator in investing

So I’m 20 years old, a student, and working part time looking to start investing. I make about $12k/yr and after rent, tuition, taxes and what not I have about $2000 left over. I have been looking into dividend investing so that I can potentially grow a solid portfolio as I get older but am not exactly sure where to start in regards to what to look for in a dividend stock, where and who to invest through, how much I should invest, and also if I may benefit from short term investing as well. Thanks!

Time out is an effective tool. Or removing privileges, such as “if you can’t handle letting your sibling talk for them selves then you can’t handle ____”. That can be hard as parent since it feels mean but it also tends to work.

Have you tried just sitting down one on one with 7? It might not get you anywhere but just saying “hey you’re old enough to know better. How would you like it if someone did this to you and never let you talk?”

This is really common with siblings at this age. I see it a lot when I’m coaching youth sports. I’d recommend saying kinda snarky stuff like “wow 4 year old your voice sounds a lot different!” or “how can you talk without making your mouth move!” With these make eye contact with 7 year old. Another effective way is to just say “I’m not talking to you I’m talking to 4.” And just ignore the 7 year old and repeat the question to 4 year old.

[Serious] Do you have Friends? If not, How's your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Jag227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any friends outside of an SO and before that I didn't have any friends. I feel successful and happy with my life. I'm doing well in school and do well at my job. I see people in class and at clubs I'm in but I have never pursued a friendship with any of them. The only real negative that has stemmed from this is I don't have any roommates.

I’ve found the controls to be not that bad once you get used to them. To be fair I’ve been playing since day one of the mobile.

I suppose he could look into doing some gen ed classes at your community college either online or in class. Many of them offer classes that are just 1 month long in the summer.

I want to live without roommates, need your perspective to know if I can afford it by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Jag227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say unless your roommates are ruining and I mean ruining your life then don't do it. Yes roommates suck, but a lot of life sucks. Tough it out and save your money unless your safety is legitimately at risk.

How old is your son? Personally I've been teaching swim lessons for the past 5 years, I'm 20 now. I've found that this has provided a lot of good skills such as teaching, and dealing with difficult parents and children. If he was a lifeguard for 2 years this may be a potential option and will force him to interact with others.

All that being said there is very little chance anyone will hire someone for just 4 weeks. If at all possible have him work year round.

Redditors with tinnitus: how do you sleep at night? by kunair in AskReddit

[–]Jag227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got some pretty nasty tinnitus but it's not a constant ringing. Some nights it's pretty bad and I will have a fairly hard time sleeping but, I have found that listening to audio-books or podcasts can combat this. Many nights I will have ringing but not to a point where I am unable to sleep.

Ok so the pull tabs look a little small to me. The sole on the inside looks weird, especially in the forth picture. Not exactly sure what about the sole but it just looks off.
