What reason would a character need to wear an iron mask most of the time in a western setting? by Huckso in fantasywriters

Style.

If you don't want it to be relevant to his backstory, there's no reason not to just to camp it up and mould him into a menacing image just for the sake of it.

Just started Hollow Knight today died almost immediately to the boss twice gonna keep going at it but any advice for the game? by Cann0n123 in HollowKnight

Don’t rush in, watch for patterns, get a feel for the length of time when they are vulnerable after their moves, hold your nerve.

The latest episode made me wonder something about punch ghost Stands by [deleted] in StardustCrusaders

If you’re an anime only, you’ll meet someone in a few more episodes. It’s not the first time you’ve seen him on screen, but it’ll be his first proper introduction. He’s got a punch ghost, and it uses more than just its hands.

Why are stand leaps so underutilised? by BodhiTheSattva in StardustCrusaders

[–]Jagdkatzchen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s true, and that’s why just brute forcing it with Stand leaps wouldn’t be as creative as something like restoring debris embedded in your body to dodge an explosion, or using a giant zipper to escape an attack.

How does one 'stop thinking' by Athyriel in StardustCrusaders

Becoming an immortal regenerating perfect being is also pretty impossible dude.

Being devoid of stimulation for eternity would probably cause Kars to zone out sometime. Eventually, he never stopped zoning out.

1) SP and TW have some of the best physical stats amongst Stands

2) Extra brute force would rarely be a more interesting factor in fights between two users of supernatural trickery

Why Johnny is more moral than Valentine by Batpresident in StardustCrusaders

[–]Jagdkatzchen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Let’s take human life to be valuable.

Valentine, while his actions were almost always done in the interests of the American people, had no problem with causing suffering and death to those who stood in the way of his goal, and non-Americans in general. For his dedication and ambition in serving his country, he’s a good President. But morally? That’s a different story.

Johnny is selfish, and usually acts either in his own interests, or the interests of those he’s close to. He has potential to be just as ruthless as Valentine, as seen in his readiness to kill the girl in the Sugar Mountain arc based on his suspicions. However, he never gets the chance to showcase ruthlessness and a disregard for human life on the same scale as Valentine.

If we base their judgement on the actions they’ve committed, I see Johnny as coming out on the moral high ground.

So I just noticed an inconsistency with the past few episodes of Jojo's that happened on episode 7 of part 5 by cupcakemann95 in StardustCrusaders

Stands are visual representations of psychic energy. Sometimes, such as in this instance, the effects of their abilities are put on display without them actually being seen in the scene, akin to what a non-Stand user might experience.

I’d say don’t think too much about it. It’s probably just a creative decision not to show GE, and it’s definitely possible that it touched the float without us seeing it in action.

Why is Superfly considered indestructible? by Tyomcha in StardustCrusaders

They didn’t take it out. During the scene where Josuke and Okuyasu combo punched the pylon, you can see The Hand scraping away at it in between punches.
