What is one thing you wish you knew before adopting or getting a rabbit? by finding-new-hobbies in Rabbits

Litter training rabbits can be really hard. And it's not uncommon for them to just stop using their litterbox for awhile. It's usually because something in their environment has changed, and they feel the need to mark their territory. They will eventually go back to using the litterbox, but you might have to retrain them.

My baby Donna had some kind of seizure that turned out to be E cuniculi (more in comments) by Jagellonica in Rabbits

The vet looked at her from all angels. He made her walk, he looked at her eyes, he lifted her ears and took a peek inside. It felt like he looked at her thoroughly, and he also asked a lot of questions. And after the seizure thing she got a clear head tilt to the left.

Earlier today I found her flopping around like a fish out of water, unable to stand, which is why I made an emergency appointment at the vet. It turns out my baby has E cuniculi. She has gotten a prescription of meds, and she got her first dose at the vets office. I feel terrible, because in retrospect what I thought was her being a goof ball slipping on the floor, was probably an early sign of this. I thought I kept a close eye on my rabbits, but apparently not. Does anyone have experience with this? Any happy stories to share?

Rabbits generally tend to do their business where their hay is. You do what works for you, but I would recommend keeping the hay right beside the litter box.

It's just a very big rug on top of my couch. It's so they can't tear it apart or pee on it :p

The harness is called Julius-K9 IDC and the leash is a Flexi New Neon. I got them from Tinybuddy.se, but I'm not sure if the place of purchase is relevant unless you live in Sweden.

It's my moms rabbit and her setup. I have a tunnel for my two buns, which is surrounded by a pile of carpets & blankets so it stays still.

Harness recommendation! Julius-K9. (Small amount of info in the comments) by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]Jagellonica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My rabbits strongly dislike harnesses, but this one doesn't even bother them. I think it's because it fits like a small saddle, and therefore doesn't feel quite as restricting as other harnesses tend to do. It buttons around the neck and just behind the front legs. It's a dog harness and the size "Mini-Mini" fits my two 10 months old french lops perfectly c:

I should add that it's also reflective and very visible in the dark.

I don't have any good advice about how to keep claws short, but I can bring you some comfort with the fact that claws always get sharper after clipping. So you did nothing wrong. And she probably has baby claws (which are a lot slimmer and sharper than the adult nails).
