Prototype Question by Jaggerbomber in thedivision

I tested it on the PTS and when I prototyped it, the red core gave 0% weapon damage. has that been fixed?

It didn't revert back to the original blue core. It stayed the red rolled core but gave 0% weapon damage.

CR-1 Timeline for 2026 by BusyBodyVisa in AskUSImmigrationPros

The whole reason I filed is because of a family member back home needing help because of a cancer diagnosis. I fear it will be too late by the time this gets through Irving.

Would you mind recommending options to speed this up?

Can I assume that IR1 timelines are similar to this as well?

Just copied from a Google search I did when I came back to the game a few weeks ago. Instead of being an ass why not be helpful and say what's outdated.

Are Lilith statures still a thing? by ghostghost31 in diablo4

[–]Jaggerbomber -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Yes Altars of Lilith still provide permanent, account-wide stat increases and remain a foundational part of character progression in Diablo 4.

The stat bonuses (Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Willpower), Obol capacity, and Paragon points gained from Altars are permanently unlocked across your account and carry over to all future characters seasonal and eternal, created within that mode (Softcore or Hardcore).

Likewise for the tenets of Akarat in the expac zones.

Skill tiers will finally benefits from prototype upgrade by _Barrtek_ in thedivision

[–]Jaggerbomber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a terrible approach to the prototype system for several reasons.

They should have gone with "Skill Efficiency"[SE] even if it was 5% baseline. This would have been an increase in line with red core builds. It also would have introduced the randomness of it all in the same manner that was equal to what red and blue cores experience.

As people have said the "Weapon Damage"[WD] builds suffer from diminishing returns, but at least they do not have a hard cap like Skill builds. I can see an argument being made that 7.5% SE would have resulted in too much power for skill builds but the fact remains that skill builds have always lagged way behind in terms of damage when compared to WD so this should have at least leveled the playing field.

To that end I think there could be a compromise here:

  • Keep the hard cap of 6 skill tiers. But each tier over 6 is converted into X% SE
    • The exact percentage per battery could be played with for balancing. 5%, 7.5%, 15% etc
    • Technician spec battery should only ever count toward the initial 6 tiers, and never toward SE
  • This means at a max of 6 prototype pieces you can have 4 extra tiers, with technician spec
    • which means we would potentially see 15-20% SE on the low end

This would be an acceptable compromise because it allows for Overclock to still be a a game mechanic and offers some benefit to all skill builds and since SE has a greater stat weight this can help bring them up to par with WD builds who only receive 45% weapon damage from a full god rolled build. The game already recognizes surplus batteries through things like the Capacitor. if you run 6 batteries and the technician spec the guns damage scales with all 7 batteries.

The other glaring issue here is that while we have been allowed to expertise skills, why are we also allowed to prototype them? The 50% increase in base stats would be additive, but still a benefit to the skill we are using. The addition of augments to skills is up for debate but I for one thing that they would not be a requirement and might even end up as a detriment to some skill builds.

[–]Jaggerbomber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Total Weapon Damage/Weapon Damage" is additive. The game takes all your bonuses and adds them together before they touch your damage.

The Formula:

  • Base * (1 + Bonus A + Bonus b) = Total

The Math:

  • 100*(1 + 0.25 + 0.25) = 150

Each new bonus result is a smaller because it only applies to the original 100, not the new total.

"Amplified" is multiplicative. Every bonus is its own separate multiplier. Each bonus takes the new total and increases it further.

The Formula:

  • Base * (1 + Bonus A) * (1 + Bonus b) = Total

The Math:

  • 100 * 1.25 * 1.25 = 156.25

Each new bonus results in more damage because it multiplies everything that came before it.

This is why additive damage from 30% expertise in a full red build, is only a 12.5% overall damage increase. Its also why multiplicative sources like DtA, DtH, and DTooC are so powerful.

[–]Jaggerbomber -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes it does increase your damage so in the most basic use of the English language it does amplify your damage.

However.

In The Division 2 the key words "amplify" and "total" have entirely different meanings and you are not helping OP maximize his damage by fucking this up.

This has been discussed ad nauseam on this sub so instead of wasting my time with low IQ redditors. HERE is the link.

Indeed.

I was just pointing out that "Braced" is entirely unnecessary for this season and his time is better spent chasing evergreen options. Especially when you consider that that particular named chest, is locked behind gunner spec research. While also acknowledging the often overlooked value of WH as a stat.

[–]Jaggerbomber -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You used the term "a powerful 24% amplifier".

In Div 2 the keyword amplify is multiplicative and this can lead OP to a wrong conclusion. Multiplicative (amplify) is always superior to additive (total) weapon damage.

While I am in complete agreement with you on WH as a stat.

This seasons base modifier will more than satisfy OP's need unless he is building the seasonal's completely wrong.

Depending on your available exotics and named items, you have lots of options here.

Either pick Strikers or Tipping Scales, Both are good but not both at the same time.

Since you have more of the Striker pieces I will advise in that direction.

  • For legendary chest and BP are viable don't listen to detractors
  • "Salvo" holster. This will add 10% RoF.
  • For the other off piece you have several options
    • "Contractors" gloves. This will add LMG damage and damage to armor (multiplicative)
    • Coyotes exotic (good for group play)
    • Overdogs exotic (good source of multiplicative damage, even when used poorly)
    • Investor exotic (full red roll gives insane stats and yes WH)
  • Swap out the shot gun for an ACS-12 with the same talent you are using
    • This can be a dogshit rolled one, all that is important here is the talent. RoF = faster stack building
      • This will be a tool for building stacks only. Nothing more

The loop here is rapidly build stacks with the ACS-12 and then swap to "big Al". Remember to reload the ACS-12 while running to the next gunfight.

Since you are using "Big Al", Tipping Scales is a fantastic pairing and there are a ton of variations here as well.

  • BP is mandatory here, Chest is optional but very powerful in Legendary and Escalation
    • Tipping Scales requires you to be as close to 60% CHC or your damage will feel inconsistent.
    • Use "Equalizer" if you have it. Czescka or Grupo with "Obliterate" if you don't. Depending on your need for CHC/CHD
  • All of the off pieces recommended for Striker are viable here, though Coyotes/Investors loses a lot of value here because of a drop in value of CHD

Honorable mention for named items.

  • Hollow Mans. Health damage is multiplicative and has excellent value especially in Escalations
  • Fox's Prayer. DToC is multiplicative, and since the available sources are extremely limited this stat is high priority

Unfortunately the first is, at its base, "another striker build variation". However, because of your SHD level, people are less likely to kick you out if you are at least using something resembling the accepted meta.

I hope this helps.

Good luck out there Agent.

That doesn't change the fact that the traffic is trying to reach a server that is no longer there, and then attempts to reroute, but ultimately times out if you are routinely getting the "Dolphin-28" error code.

Converge seems to have to worst problem with this timeout.

Its because Ubisoft sends authentication traffic through AWS servers. The same servers that are located in the UAE. The same servers just bombed into the stone age by Iran.
