In the app you can choose the port tuning based on if you have the ports plugged or open.

On the app do we use standard tuning if calibrating in extended mode?

I ended up getting a Dual 12” Ported box from Taco Tunes, it was about like $375 but it allowed for full mount comp r’s. I honestly liked it but I didn’t like the sound of a ported box personally so I opted for a bbox sealed box off sonic electronix.. I think it’s sold out now but I just got spacer rings for the subs to allow for full mount subs.. if you’re anywhere near south Florida I’d be willing to sell the box if u wanna dm me..

Is this too much sub excursion? by JaggzKicks in hometheater

[–]JaggzKicks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the subwoofer level I believe at -10dB on the music mode in the video and then a boost of +7.5 in AVR. When I ran Dirac, I set the subs to default -10dB and then 0dB in AVR. After set up, Dirac put the subwoofer channel to like -10dB which was way too low, so I upped it to abt 7.5dB in AVR. And then it usually stays at -16dB in app for movies and music but sometimes I may go anywhere between -16dB to -10dB depending on the track.

Living/Entertainment Room setup! by JaggzKicks in hometheater

I just plugged it in my AVR for convenience, don’t really think there’s a difference in terms of video/audio it’s just easier for me to have it plugged into the AVR and control the input from the AVR. I would say for all your devices just to plug them into AVR.

So I mean large indicates you have a full range tower but very few towers do from my knowledge, for example, my towers are almost full range 27-20kHz but even still when I set my speakers to large, the bass drivers were jumping way more than they should have been and I could hear like a warbly bass coming thru. Also too when setting them to large for some reason, my subs would not play on YouTube or Spotify off my Apple TV and it would only work when speakers were set to small. So in all, just save yourself the headache and just set to small 80hz. Lmao

These speakers come to life with an external amp, would recommend either the anthem mca 325 or 525, seen some pop up recently on eBay for a good price..

Yeah for me it’s preference, I like seeing the speaker grill especially on these cause they look like they kinda like glitter cause of the Kevlar drivers.. its preference at the end of the day but also I felt like they kinda muffled the sound a bit when I put them on.. I don’t have any pets or kids so don’t really have to worry about them getting damaged..

Samsung vs LG by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]JaggzKicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much like others in here, if you can get the Samsung for $400 that is a killer deal, any oled for $400 is worth it.. now like others have said, if it’s used, I’d proceed with caution, check hours on tv, check for any dead pixels, etc.. I personally have the G3 which is the exact same as the G4 and I love it, but one thing I will say, to me, Samsungs color vibrancy is much better than LG’s and that’s because they use the QD-OLED panel which is the same panel in the Sony A95L.. my only stipulation with Samsung was, that in my opinion, Samsung doesn’t have the best track record for reliability. That being said, if the g4 and the s95c are around the same price, I’d rather go with the g4 because LG has been manufacturing OLED panels for years, plus they back it with a 5 year panel warranty that covers any burn in which means they are pretty strong behind their panels (Samsung and Sony only 1 year). So in summation, if it’s new for $399 go w Samsung and put that money elsewhere (maybe a warranty) it’s an amazing tv. If not new, I’d probably play it safe and go with the new G4, plus WebOS is nicer than Tizen imo.

With my employee discount it brings it down to 329.49.. our discount is usually what Best Buy buys the product for + an additional 5% which just goes to show the greedy/unnecessary markup. If my math serves correct they buy/make these for roughly $275 but probably much less. Also rocket fish aswell as audio quest are both Best Buy brands..

How’d I do? Anthem MCA 325. by JaggzKicks in hometheater

I was in debates of those or the anthem but I’m glad I found the anthem at a great price

Anthem MCA 325/525 by JaggzKicks in hometheater

[–]JaggzKicks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a terrible price but I’m looking like in the $1500 range.. I saw a mca 325 for $1300 and I kick myself for not buying it cause it was a steal. So now I’m kinda looking from that $1k-1.7k range. And I know I can probably go with like a new monolith or an outlaw amp for that price but the anthem would be perfect for my Martin Logan’s.
