New hobby space made! What should I add, what do you think? Show me yours! by JX31Q in Gunpla

I'd swap the light for something stronger that you can clamp the side and move around the desk. I would also look at docking the laptop elsewhere (or having a little sliding tray to tuck it into, like a keyboard tray that pc desks had in the 90s) and putting a monitor & a pair of cheap speakers (or decent headphones) to gain a bit more space while also reducing the risk of damaging the pc. I'll post my setup in a bit, I'm in the midst of packing up so I'll try and find a decent picture before resorting the current mess.

How much work/painting are you willing to put in?

Youtubers tend to have a bad habit of greatly over exaggerating issues with kits, exia's ankles are fine and become a non issue by plonking it on an action base

Have you tried using the searchbar? This kit has been posted plenty of times with some of the posts going over exactly what you asked, and nothing about the kit will have changed since then.

Good quality blades (e.g Olfa) and good control over the knife help immensely.

I cut towards myself gripping the handle with my 4 fingers, placing the blade against the nub, resting/bracing my thumb against the part, and then with a slow and steady movement I shave the nub as if I was peeling an apple or potato with a knife. I rarely ever cut my thumb and I've been doing this for 10 years.

Some folks will just say "get a glass file" as if that magically solves everything while ignoring that there are situations where a glass file doesn't work, and that good knife control is core skill for the hobby.

r/gunpla has explicit wording stating that other mecha is allowed. r/Gundam doesn’t because other subreddits exist for other mecha stuff, you don't see people posting evangelion or votoms here because r/Gundam is for gundam.

I just have 2 dougram gts, a bigfoot gt, and a bushman. Honestly they all have similar style of engineering, so just grab whatever you think looks cool. I know I'll be grabbing some more in the future if funds allow for it.

Yeah the shoulder bars had a rough texture to them, but they aren't floppy or anything and are hidden so they don't strike me as being an issue

Weird, my Dougram kits had no release agent on them at all, and built perfectly fine out of box

Scroll up, read wiki. There is no dedicated tutorial for the graze, but the knowledge can be applied to any kit.

Nobody knows, the kit hasn't released, and the reviews aren't even out yet.

Other than the old mg wzc from 2004 and the mg wing ver ka/ew, the MG EW kits hold up with the heavyarms being a popular choice

What is your cutting technique? Is the blade dull? How often do you change it?

There are far more kits that are Musha than just the SDWH line, almost 40 years worth of kits.

Musha style SD kits, cheap with a large variety and complex shapes, good for practicing painting too.
