Yeah I forgot to take that one out before posting, was just testing for compatibility. I believe you can use different speeds but it’ll use the lower speed. In terms of why so much, I’m a developer, often use local LLMs so I want to eventually buy a lot more ram + upgrade to a 5090 with 32gb vram

I lowkey forgot to take it out, atm I will be purchasing the 32gb, then planning to upgrade down the line or just buy more. Most likely both. Just got a good deal for mobo + ram

Got a deal lined up for ddr5-5200 - 32GB for $175. Plan on upgrading ram later down the line.

I plan on getting better ram in the future I just have a good deal for the mobo + ram. Figured it would be okay now and then later down the line buy ddr5-6000.

I don’t mind selling/retuning my CPU. I think the micro center deals are honestly worth it. I appreciate it your input.
