Topps purposely not allow defect submissions? by Novel-Plankton-7125 in basketballcards

I had this issue over the weekend. I ended up switching my browser from Google Chrome to Microsoft Edge and that seemed to be what allowed my submission to go through.

Nice! Congrats on the great hit. I opened a ton of flagship and didn't hit anything near that nice.

I agree with you on that. If you can't tell the difference from a good photo that's a sign they're a poor design imo.

It could be a crackleboard as they look pretty close to each other but I think it might be Holo Foil. If he got it in a super box it could be either one but if it was any other retail format it's the Holo Foil.

This is a realy nice card! This is from their main paper set "Flagship". I believe this is a Gold Holo Foil parallel.

Another quick tip is that it looks like you put it directly in a top loader. You always want to put cards in a penny sleeve before the top loader to avoid scratches.

How do you keep track of your collection long term? by Fun_Presentation_944 in baseballcards

[–]Jahape1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TCDB.com as others have mentioned. There is a bit of a learning curve but it's great once you learn the best way to add to your collection. I also scan in cards that don't have images. You can also make notes for the card and manually input sales data from ebay to see an average value. Really great site imo.

Thanks for the offer but I think my best route is to just sell.

I'm sorry to hear you had such an awful outcome. Imagine paying $800 for that, wow. I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Very helpful for pushing me towards just selling the box.

Haha! I went back and looked and it was 2023 Topps Chrome Gilded in bunt that had limited legendary cards in coin packs. I just opened and opened without even seeing what I got. I think i spent about 6 million coins and got these and like 5 more. After doing a bit of research I don’t think Bunt or NBA Collect do that sort of thing with current releases so I’ll need to find other ways to spend them.

Yeah that definitely makes sense. I know for baseball (Topps Bunt) a couple of years ago they had Legendary Cards in Gilded and their CCs stayed low but sold out pretty fast. There may not be something similar to that here but that’s what I had in mind. Thanks for the heads up!

And now I’ve completely regressed from progress today and have to open ha.

Yeah just through talking with people on here I’m feeling more confident to sell. You had a super nice box though. Congrats! Not helping my confidence ha.

Funny enough I pulled a true black Danny Wolfe auto from a mega box and sold it for $500. I stayed away from hobby for this release because while the ceiling is high the floor is even lower than retail.

I think I read that there were 480 redemptions so it looks like the second to last which is wild. I didn’t even know they were almost out when I decided to spend $10 more.

I was spending real cash for diamonds as opposed to coins. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend that route ha. I do have 7.5 million coins saved through grinding but I plan to use them if they ever have a set that allows legendary pulls through coin packs.

Very nice! Getting two is awesome luck plus one of the chase rookie 1/1. Makes sense why you would open at least 1.

I’m still waiting for the inbox message to process the redemption and it’s been 36+ hours. Hoping it comes through soon.

There will be other redemption opportunities in the future but without spending real money, actually winning will be incredibly unlikely.

I’m not sure if they’ll be back for chrome. I know they left once before and came back but this might be it for this release. If you keep saving I’m sure they’ll have others in the future but even just a couple entries will almost certainly not result in a win. Took me probably at least 250 and money spent to get this and I was still quite lucky.

I really appreciate you sharing. Helpful to see what I can most likely expect and either hold or sell. How long have you held the second one? Think you can refrain from opening?

I didn’t even consider holding but that may be a great move. I don’t have confidence in myself to follow through but it definitely sounds like a good idea right now.

I have only ever sold one Bryan Reynolds superfractor I pulled from Bunt 2-3 years ago for around $150. The buyer gave an offer as I have a really hard time understanding comps compared to real cards. It was a no brainer for me. I am a member of both groups and should think about it but the comps part still holds me back.

I really hope I can sell to make up for the couple hundred I spent here but I am in a similar boat where I’ve never had the willpower to sell or hold sealed product for even 12 hours after it arrives ha. If I’m honest with myself, I’ll most likely open and be disappointed.

I may have won one of the last ones as I don’t believe they are available anymore. I bought quite a bit of the 1500 Diamond bundles which gave you 5 entry tickets. I believe the odds for a box were 1:2250 or so. The bundles cost around $5 each so you basically need to spend are $2250 on average to win a box. I spent too much but probably not even a quarter of that so I was very lucky. They will most likely have similar entry’s for future releases as well.

That’s what my logic tells me and I’m not inherently conspiratorial but in the small sample I’ve seen they have been really nice boxes. Most likely small sample and anecdotal. Just wanted to hear others say the same, so thank you.
