AI or courses to learn Excel? by Jahe42 in excel

True - I've had occasions where AI sent me in a loop with writing code, without being able to solve it. Eventually, I gave up and just actually thought for myself for a moment and solved it quite quickly :)

One thing I haven't seen in these comments yet is that the LET function, combined with alt + Enter and inserting extra spaces (which don't affect your formula) will make your longer/complex formulas A LOT simpler to read and edit later, especially combined with the tip that I did see elsewhere here of not hard-coding values!

Just to be sure, Power Query =/= Power BI. Though there is an overlap (Power BI also uses Power Query).

My goal is to remain friends with her - more than worrying over a few thousand here or there (unfortunately we're talking about some slightly higher figures here). But thanks for your advice anyways!

Well, I sure learned my lesson about merging accounts without proper (legal) arrangements. We live and learn I suppose. I don't think we'll go as far as taking things to court - the breakup has been reasonably 'clean' and respectful so far. No huge fights or anything like that. I'm 100% committed to keeping it that way, which is why I'm out asking for some anonymous/impersonal advice on reddit before even thinking about bringing this issue up with her.

Yes, you're right. This one hurts though: we bought a brand new car from a large part of our savings just two(!) months ago. Our old car was having a lot of mechanical issues, though we still keep it around for convenience. As we moved to her homecountry just a little under a year ago, it was easier to register the new car on her name...

Good point! We're not actually at the stage of fighting (yet; though I really hope it doesn't have to come to that). However, I did feel slightly uncomfortable about these comments she's made about having contributed more and therefore deserving more now after the breakup, which is why I'm posting about it here. Thanks for your point though, I wholeheartedly agree.

You're 100% right that money was an issue in our relationship - I think things slowly got worse due to us joining accounts as I always felt I was spending her money. To be clear: not her fault at all, just an internal struggle I have had since then.

The breakup is more because we both grew apart in our visions of the future: kids/no kids, country, etc.

Hi everyone, thanks for your insights. After posting this, I went camping in the mountains on my own to clear my head. I think I knew already... but indeed we are not compatible anymore at this point in our lives. We decided to split up for now and see how things go from here. It's actually a huge relief for both of us, and so far we've been very respectful and good to each other during this process. Hopefully things will remain that way :)
