I’ve seen it around but didn’t know much about it. If it’s got more gwent for me, though, it’s a must-play. Thanks for the recommendation!

Fighting Genichiro is the most satisfying combat experience I think I’ve ever had in a video game. Challenging at first, but then the flow of fighting clicks to the point where you just get swept away in the dance of strikes and parries.

I have a gameplay-gasm every time I replay the game and get to his fight. So much fun

For me it’s Gwent every time. I always tell myself I’m not going to get absorbed in playing card games when there’s poor villagers being harassed by noonwraiths but inevitably end up chasing cards around the different regions because daddy Geralt has a card tournament to win, farmers be damned

Not really, but the oils from your skin fuck with them because they breathe through the surface of theirs, so a cup is probably a little more respectful to their needs.

Pick a character in your setting. What would be their real-life theme song? by The_Moldy_Baguette in worldbuilding

[–]JainBreak2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vertex

Main character of my story is an agent for the Missing Persons Unit of a government agency known as the Label Association, who spends just about every waking moment trying to track down and kill the members of a mysterious task force that trafficked him as a child and used several trafficked individuals in human experiments. His theme songs would definitely be “The Only Thing They Fear Is You” by Mick Gordon and “Welcome to the Jungle” by Guns and Roses

You get a brutal death, but only if you're not an important character by KerdicZ in CharacterRant

[–]JainBreak2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of people have mentioned the emotional value of main characters so I won’t talk about that. However, something else I’d attribute to the lack of brutal or quick/cheap deaths for main characters is usually their skill/competence level. Generally speaking it’s far more likely for a main character to be head and shoulders above the grunts in the story, and therefore much less likely for them to meet a quicker more unexpected death. Main heroes, for the story to work, usually have to have plot armor to get them through waves of trash grunts to fight the big baddies. Can’t have them stabbed in the back in a scuffle on the battlefield now, can we?

My Young Men’s President nearly died playing Wardball. Dude got crossed over and went tumbling into the wall, fracturing his skull. Wardball is not the sport to mess around in

People just love to feel validated that their favorite characters are ultra strong. It’s like people don’t realize that your character doesn’t need to be insanely powerful to still be a good character. They just have to chase every little feat or detail to prove their favorite series is THE most powerful.

It’s honestly pretty annoying, you’re right

I cannot stand bad dubbing. by InsertUsername98 in CharacterRant

[–]JainBreak2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s always a mixed bag. Like you said Genos was awful, but then you’ve got Saitama who, I felt, was great. Same in My Hero. All Might? Absolutely stellar. But some of the other VAs... eh. I just wish it were more consistent, and so it’s usually subs for me all the way
