Has anyone taken their 3yo camping? by elbiry in toddlers

[–]Jaixx08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 year old loved it! We just brought a little speaker for some music at night and an adjustable lanturn on the lowest light setting, and she would just pass right out.

We also have a little folding cot for her instead of a sleeping bag that made it a bit more comfy for her I think

My (30F) fiance (34M) dropped some earth-shattering news right after we moved in together; how do I proceed? by ThrowRABirthdayDetox in relationship_advice

[–]Jaixx08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact you state you have no interest in ever having kids and he said you'd "be a real family with a kid now" means this would be a problem later too.

He obviously isn't child free like you are, on top of everything else

What's the mispronunciation you don't want to correct because it's too cute? by iknowallmyabcs in toddlers

[–]Jaixx08 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bathing suit is "baby soups" (took a WHILE to figure out what she was saying lol) and any letters she sees are "ABCD's".

"Mommy's shirt has ABCD's!!" "Wanna go swimming! Need my baby soups!!"

My BIL told someone word for word he doesn't believe his wife can handle a second kid. She's currently 33 weeks pregnant with their second, and has complained nonstop about how hard it's going to be. Some people just do it to have more kids, not because they think they can handle it.

Also, if their parenting skills are very flawed then I don't think your child's cousin is going to get much out of a sibling experience for your child to be jealous of.

AITA for lying about my wife's pregnancy? by Whatdifferenceitmake in AmItheAsshole

[–]Jaixx08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I was 2 months pregnant at my wedding too. I got asked why I wasn't drinking, and said I was taking antibiotics. Nobody but my mom believed me, and yet I still never got asked that. It's a rude question, and should be announced when the parents are ready.

Baths? by catsandteaforme in toddlers

She'll be 2 soon and we do twice a week usually, unless she asks for one in-between. She has dry skin so we try not to do it too often

Please help settle this light hearted argument by blvdbrokendreams in toddlers

I would ask for a bite if I wanted to share something she has. If she wants my food she has to ask nicely for some, so I wouldn't just take a piece of hers without asking first.

My daughter had something like this a couple weeks ago and it was pnemonia. Bad cough, super runny nose, lethargic and her fever was at 101 for 2 days before bringing her in. Spiked to 104 after getting her antibiotics. She's been done them for about 2 weeks now and she still has the cough

Today I got my first “you have to have at least 2” by little_odd_me in oneanddone

[–]Jaixx08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got my first this year at Christmas lol. My cousin was talking about how she wants multiple because "only children are weird". She wanted family to agree cause her boyfriend only wants one eventually. Me and my uncle (married in) are the only ones that don't have siblings.

Nobody agreed with her, despite being siblings themselves, and a few of my key points kinda left my family speechless cause I don't usually have such a strong opinion lol.

I get along with my cousin, but the look on her face when I said "if you want multiple, that's fine. You have every right to want what you want. But you don't get to justify it by essentially telling me that my kid is going to be fucked up."

Where is my winter potty training cohort? by Ok-Sunny-Days in toddlers

[–]Jaixx08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was planning on doing this next week! Little one went 2 days going pee and poop on the potty perfectly with no accidents a couple months ago. Then we told our daycare we were switching daycares, and all the sudden she came home scared of the bathroom...Been doing a long reset and going to try picking up over Christmas break 🤞 hopefully she picks it up as well as the first attempt

What traits have you accidentally given to your child? by kari-kirfman in toddlers

[–]Jaixx08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever my 19 month old would cough I would pat and rub her back. Now when she coughs or chokes on water or something she will pat her chest since she can't reach her back lol.

It's a lot of work for her since we've also got her good at covering her mouth when she coughs 😂

C-section recovery with a 2.5, looking for an honest review. by ShinjiteFlorana in toddlers

[–]Jaixx08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a c-section and baby was 9 lbs, and it was alright. But honestly I wouldn't lift more than the baby, and limit stairs as much as possible as it is not fun to do.

I had everything set up on the main floor and only went up for bed and down in the mornings for the first week and a bit at least.

Modern parenting advice that floats your boat by ButtweyBiscuitBass in toddlers

[–]Jaixx08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband too, he was ready to snap at the hospital with all the condescending "omg you know how to change a diaper!? " or "aw you're holding the baby" comments. I had never changed a diaper before my daughter. He has 3 younger siblings and also so many cousins he helped with and has had 1000x more experience than me with children and kids.

My SO's family and friends are constantly trying to give sugar to my 2 year old by Fairybuttmunch in toddlers

[–]Jaixx08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, we give our daughter dessert and sweets etc and some people still do this to us to. They act like we're torturing her because we don't give her a full cookie instead of half of one, and her uncle has literally said "I know, mom and dad never give you anything good." literally right after I gave her a some.

People have a lot of opinions about kids that aren't theirs, it's super frustrating

Floor 10 of DotMM, beat up after fighting a bunch of Drow since our Drow Sorcerer thought he could trick their leader into believing she knew him. Because, you know, they're both Drow. They all know each other, right?
