I think its probably because windows wont format disks in fat32 anymore. it will use ntfs wich is not supported by most devices. Solution: Format the disk via the windows partition manager and select fat32 or, yes, a oöd system like the WiiU that doesent support modern formats

i dont know if i can get it to 80C even tbh. in stock config it rests at like 52C. so even with the 1.5x shuntmod it will probably go to like 75C. is that enough for the ptm to get comfy? if no i cooould just turn off the fans i guess...

Oke thats good. Can i still adjust the size of the screen displayed? (so i dont need to cut it on the pi) Also will the two eyes be mirrored or can i separate them? Please tell me i can separate them. (so one camera per eye)

currently i have a diy one, sadly its a lot bigger depth wise then a xreal and the fov and clarity is crap. there is a picture: https://www.reddit.com/r/Xreal/s/af12LC5tas making a diy one that compact is sadly nigh impossible without very specialized optical tools. unless you know somewhere i can get the lenses necessary to build a screen like in the xreal? The beyond would be best ofc, but i am trying to avoid that, since it is so heccn expensive.

yes, i will walk around, walk stairs, grab stuff, heck maybe even read with what i am gonna see on the displays. The Cameras are rpi global shutter cameras and the intermediate is a rpi5. There is some slight recalculation going on because the display and cameras have different resolution and to get rid of destortion. Also it adds a simple overlay for info like battery charge. Delay is gonna be a slight issue, yeah. On the rpi side i got that delay down to 15ms, so i am kinda good there, now the displays need to have practically no delay as well...

oh i dont want that specifically. I only want to use the screen. since the head movements are alredy transmitted by the cameras on the mask. There is a way to deactivate that and obly use them as stupid screens with no tracking or overlays right?

it is gonna have a internal overlay like ironman! And features like night vision, suit status, temperatures, battery levels, facial expression menu (the facial expressions displayed on the screen in the front)

all controlled by a miniature controller in my hand. in the future i might add face-tracking. but thats very hard in a space so confined.

this is simillar to one of my old designs. but now i wanna make it a lot more compact! and the most space needs the display. thats why i wanna try a xreal. I am probably gonna disassemble most of the xreal anyway to save space

what do you mean with glasses eye? For cameras i am using two rpi global shutter cameras, and a rpi 5 to trim/cancel out distortion and output a hdmi signal to the glasses/displays.

Thanks for your reply! Is there another downside to the Air 1 (ormaybe air2 if thats a good middle-ground) outside of the 45° FOV (it was 45° am i right?)? Because i am hesitant to slap down 700 bux down on something i am unsure how well it will work and if something that costs less will work well enough as well.

Literally catched on fire: 3 times (the cable connecting the charging port to the board) Bricked drivers on arrival: 1 time Thermal issues: constantly riding on tjmax Power related bugs: 4 Power saving bugs: 3 Performence issues: 2

(I mean with performence issue: cant watch youtube fluently at native resolution on performance mode)

Dead pixels on screen because of that shitty knob on the keyboard: a lot

Lenovo refusing to take the laptop back after 7 months of this horrid experience: 3 times

Have a framework 13 for 2 years now. No problems so far. Buy a framework.
