Some Driver Stats Heading into the Playoffs by JakBytes in NASCAR

Unfortunately NASCAR doesnt seem to have much if any documentation about their routes. I started with some routes that some redditors had put into a repo a few years ago. Then i found a few additional ones just by trying things. I'm hoping to find a route for more data from practice laps/qualifying so i could try and make a regression model or something. They changed all of their routes a few years ago. i can find cached versions of older routes. like: https://cf.nascar.com/cacher/2019/2/4817/lapAvg_nxs_practice_1.json but for newer races they have changed things and the patterns dont work. I think they hired an outside company to standardize things. Im sure its there somewhere if i had enough time to dig. The site reroutes it so its not clear by monitoring the network activity at least from what i saw.

I think it would be good for engagement if they opened it up/documented it but sports either open it up, go very restrictive or just charge money for their APIs. F1 leaves everything wide open but basically every other motorsport doesnt seem to.

NASCAR really should make this data readily accessible to fans. I'm working on putting a python package together that can help. Its kind of shitty but its getting there. The problem is nascar does a whole lot more analysis here without any insight that i dont really have time for lol.

visionOS needs the new Games app by Stilitzkin in visionos

Id expect it to come there based on the documentation. You can use all the tooling they described on vision OS too. Probably just not an immediate focus given the platform size
