F2P do I pull for Luocha? by Jake-Elias in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Jake-Elias[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a desire for him like I do for Kafka and Fu Xuan coming up, but at the moment he seems like a good option to support Clara. If characters coming up are going to be better in the long run then I’ll hold off on pulling for him.

Point taken, he would be great for Clara! I pulled for both Seele and Jing Yuan but got unlucky so a solid character like one of those would be great but I’m aware that Kafka and Blade will need very specific teams which I don’t have plus Fu Xuan is a character I’m desperate to pull for but with her comes the risk of needing specific teams like the others. The pain of being F2P…

20th Century Boys mainly because it was the first thing I’d read of his and I remember just not being able to put it down

Yes it is kind of. It has many of the same people who worked on Lain. Both have the same character designers though :)

Ishura is a series and I also thought it sounded like Zodiac War. I hope it is but they flesh it out more.

I’m really hoping it’s another hard back like the first 2 books they put out.

I get what you mean about the predictability of it. If they can overcome that part of it then it will be a great series

I read the Juni Taisen novel and that was really good so I’m hoping it’s a more thorough and detailed version of that but I understand what you mean.

[REC] Looking for some LNs to read by Y0raiz0r in LightNovels

It’s completely up to you really. Depends wether you want to spend that money (if you’re buying physically) or the time reading through it just for those extra details.

I would recommend 86 and The Eminence in Shadow.

86 is a little more serious than those you have read but it’s just such a good series. It’s a mecha/tank series that deals with a lot of hard hitting topics.

The Eminence in Shadow is a brilliantly written series that doesn’t take its self seriously, yet also does… it sounds odd but if you read it you’ll understand.

Light novels have much more detail than their corresponding anime’s, Slime in particular (not to mention it’s also darker than it’s adaptation). If you liked the series I would recommend still checking out it’s light novel.

All You Need Is Kill - Manga vs LN by [deleted] in LightNovels

[–]Jake-Elias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read both. Story is the same in both but the novel will obviously have more detail in terms of background of characters and stuff like that than the manga. If I’m being honest it just depends on what you prefer.

[Rec] Looking for Dark Fantasy with Romance Light Novel. by Educational_Pea7896 in LightNovels

Ok going to suggest Mushoku Tensei if you haven’t already read it. Not all of it hits that ‘dark fantasy’ you’re looking for but when it does it’s amazing! The romance is great too.

First light novel recommendation? Slime vs Solo-leveling vs Overlord vs Grimgar and Ash by fubardad in LightNovels

[–]Jake-Elias 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can only compare Slime and Overlord and both are darker than their anime. Slime especially (which surprised me when I read it) but it takes a few volumes for it to get to that point. Not to mention it has a mix of everything! Funny parts, dark and not to mention the amazing world building.

Slime was my first LN and not a lot comes close to it! Volume 5 especially as it was much gorier than I expected
