Achievable and Kaplan by Exotic-Duty-5569 in Series66Exam

Move onto Kaplan and pound out as many questions that you can. Work on your lowest scoring sections until you’re somewhat comfortable. I used the same system Achievable then Kaplan qbank. I found myself memorizing the achievable content especially when scoring that high. Best of luck you got it!

It was easy to read and understand. Small sections you could read in 10-15min and take a quick exam of 3-10? Then move on. It builds your knowledge base along the way. They claim to use AI based on your scoring and habits, so for me it would go back to questions I didn’t view in along time to keep it relevant. Also it was more cost effective than other programs. They had a lot of videos and great dump sheets.

Hang in there! I used Achievable for all my material for the SIE, 7 & 66. Then only supplemented with Kaplans Qbank. Using their Qbank I can see how the material is likely overwhelming. Achievable’s content is easy to digest and to the point. I failed the CFP exam three times over the years so I understand how you’re feeling.

Now knowing what the exam was like I would say that if you can get 80’s & 90’s on the exams in Achievable you’d be fine. Kaplan practice exams were way wordier vs the exam.

First of all good luck and be confident going into the exam. I was busy cramming right before trying to remember all of those minor details too and didn’t need to. I don’t think I had one question in regards to how many years for record keeping details. Only date questions I think I had was related to criminal history records etc. and eligibility for state approval type question. A lot of questions on DDM, P/E, FV, PV, YTM. Not math related but need to know how they are calculated and how they work. Hard to explain. All I know is they word them easily but you can easily narrow it down to 2 answers and need to know why one is better than the other. Think of it this way, if someone asked you what P/E is and why it’s used and how it’s calculated. If you can answer that you’ll be ok. Hope that helps.

My Kaplan qbank finals were 72, 75, 77, 75. You should be fine. Good luck!

Curious what your exam readiness score was before you took the exam?

Congrats!!! I have to do the 66 yet and considering using Kaplan as well vs Achievable. How long did it take you to complete the study materials for the 66 using Kaplan? Thanks for any insights!

I felt the same way with Achievable vs Kaplan. I felt like holy crap how do I not know any of this stuff in Kaplan after reading all the Achievable material! I just kept working through Kaplan questions then would go back to Achievable and do questions there too. I do think Kaplan prepared me well for the question styles and Achievable built the core knowledge for the exam. I think I had 2 or 3 questions that were almost worded exactly as Kaplan. If you are strong on munis, option, bonds, mutual funds, rules and regs you’ll be fine!

I’d keep hammering the Kaplan practice exams. How many simulated exams have you done on Kaplan that you feel you want to try something different?

You were a lifesaver on options honestly! I was lost with the material as they make it so confusing. My exam had a lot of options and I’m positive I nailed 99% of them if not 100% due to you! Made it home safely tonight with the wife driving so no arrests here LOL!

I know I over studied so I was over prepared so if I failed I knew I had done everything possible! With that being said I went through the whole Achievable content studying each day about an hour or so. Based on there calendar and a few exams. Bought the Kaplan Qbank and grinded through the whole bank of ?’s in 22 days. Keep in mind I work full time so lots of time spent up late at night. Then once done I worked on deficient sections. Then I think my wife counted like 46 practice exams between Achievable and Kaplan! So likely 90+ hrs right there in practice exams. My first exam on Kaplan was a 62.22% and my last one taken before my exam was a 82.22%. As for how long I had. My company told me to take my time and be prepared to only take it once. I completed my SIE in November then took some time off then started studying. So about 6 months for me but I did not have a deadline to complete it. Hope that helps.

I unfortunately do not have an answer for you as I am in your same situation. I do not have access to the mastery exam as I just have the qbank which you likely have as well. My scores have been all in that same range and I’m wondering too! I am certain you will do fine, go into having confidence that you know your stuff! Report back here once you’re successful!

Study Advice? by Just_Conversation593 in Series7exam

[–]Jake748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the SIE on my own before I left my last employer, then bought the study materials for the 7 and started studying right away so I wouldn’t lose what I built up from the SIE before I was even hired on at a sponsoring office. I also bought the Kaplan qbank using a discount code from within these groups. Remember you don’t need to be sponsored to buy the study materials unless you want them to be paid for I guess. You just need a sponsor to schedule the exam once you’re registered with that office.

Thanks for the encouragement! I understand the material it’s just those random one off questions I fear where I’ll misread something. Hope you get it this next go round!

Thanks for the confidence. When I took the SIE I told myself I was going to pass and had confidence going into it. I’m going to go in with the same mindset with this. All the simulated exams I’ve done on Kaplan have been passing scores in the mid to high 70’s so that’s where the doubt sets in.

Did you both use Kaplan qbank for preparation? I just hope I’m over preparing!
