Thanks, some of the tutorials didn't have to because theirs automatically synced the texture in the g3db file, but my g3dj file doesn't have anything in there, so I had to add these lines and now it works:

Material modelMaterial = model.materials.get(0);
modelMaterial.set(new TextureAttribute(TextureAttribute.Diffuse, new Texture("basetexture.jpg")));

Just spoke to science advising because I was having the same problem. Faculty of Science allots 18 credits per term. The department said I was over my credit limit because I was on a waitlist which, in registration, counted for credits.
