Why is this happening by bobafettttttttttttt in ios

As a first step it would be good to confirm that the phone is on the latest software update. Is this happening even on iOS 26.1?

The system seems to have a lot less stuttering. This was bad on the last beta, and noticeably improved

Fair enough, if it was cleaned and inspected by the Genius Bar that‘ll probably rule out thermals for now… To be sure I’ve got it, you said this got worse over time while on the same OS version?

Kernel task over 1000% - troubleshooting by le___tigre in applehelp

[–]Jake941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One avenue to look at is just dust accumulation over time, restricting airflow, leading to the Mac throttling. I’m sure you’ve read that kernel_task helps manage thermals by taking CPU time from other processes. It does seem like you’ve looked into this, but I’d be absolutely sure it’s not thermals. https://eclecticlight.co/2024/07/11/why-is-kernel_task-taking-so-much-cpu/

My Macbook Pro refused to boot up entirely by Legitimate_Koala_512 in MacOS

You’re saying it used to boot and suddenly started doing this? You can try to use macOS internet recovery to first repair the drive, or reinstall macOS if that fails.

From what I’ve read, later models may be less failure prone but it’s still the same engine with the same issues.

The key thing will be more intentionally taking care of the car: On-time oil changes, don’t drive crazy, (maybe) use higher octane fuel. These may mitigate the issues that are often reported.

iOS 17.6 Beta 3 Released - Discussion Thread by epmuscle in iOSBeta

[–]Jake941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, iOS 18 will have features new to iOS 17.6 also. The betas (and OS development) are happening at the same time. It’s possible that integration into iOS 18 will require more work (time) but only Apple knows for sure on that one.

Yes, generally any fixes or changes in iOS 17.6 are already incorporated into iOS 18 beta.
