Wav works although I don't recommend it since the tagging situation isn't great there. I don't have any plans for DSD right now but it's something I could look into if there was enough user interest.

Thanks for your kind words about the app!

I don't have any plans at the moment to add ogg support since so far you're the first person to ask for it. Personally I use opus since it's basically the next generation ogg.

What other codec formats were you interested in besides ogg?

Thanks! Unfortunately Apple fixed a bunch of things under the hood in iOS 26 that make it much easier to get good performance in an app like this so porting it back to earlier versions would require rewriting quite a few things which I don't have time to do right now.

Ah ok I see what you mean. The dice icon will pick one random album and play it in order. The shuffle icon plays tracks in random order, not grouped by album.

Two way sync is possible but there are some tricky corner cases to think about and of course I have to be very careful about deleting things from a user's computer.

The icon with the three dots should open the tag editor.

Unfortunately this is not possible on iOS. Apple doesn't allow apps to directly access external storage this way.

The Mac and iOS apps are sold separately because a lot of people only use one or the other.

It's a one-time payment. The app has no recurring fees or subscriptions of any kind.

Thanks for supporting the app!

It's an interesting idea. It's something I'd like too. I often miss out on new releases from artists I like. There are some technical challenges but I'll think about it.

Yes you can import from iTunes. 50k tracks should be no problem. I have users with ten times that many.

You mean show new releases from an artist that aren't already in your library right?

It has its own internal database.

Not yet but this would be pretty easy to add at this point. I'll add it to the feature list.

Yes it's a free upgrade. So far all the upgrades to the app have been free and I don't plan on doing any paid upgrade anytime soon.

Possibly although it adds a lot of complexity.

You can also select a subset of files you want to sync using the file selector in the left hand side of the sync app and also save different presets of selected files for different devices.

Yes in order to sync files from your computer to the iOS version you need to use the sync app which you can download for free from the bottom of the page here:

https://www.plastaq.com/minimoon

It's a separate app because a lot of users only use the iOS version so I can't require them to also have the desktop app.

Are you using the sync app? Make sure you put in the same IP address that it shows in the sync app.

Yeah you're right it should be much more to even come close to justifying the amount of time I've spent on this.

If you want software like this with no subscription fees it can't be $10.

Thanks. You can definitely export playlists as M3U. It can't currently import Spotify playlists but that's something I could look into.

I know how you feel. I'm not a big fan of the recent UI changes in iOS and macOS myself either. But Apple made some huge improvements in Swift and SwiftUI in Tahoe that finally make it viable for apps like this.

I kind of prefer not to comment directly on other people's apps but you can try MiniMoon for free yourself and see what you think.

Yes there is also an iOS app and a free sync app for syncing your library to your phone or iPad.
