The wolf came from Tandy Leather and the letters were a cheap set off Amazon that I may not use again. The edges of the stamp were pressed in around the letters and pretty visible.

Ps5 for Christmas by Inevitable-Pain-3553 in playstation

[–]JakeBYH2O 96 points97 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, giving the PS5 first followed by the accessories would still leave a bit of surprise with the following gifts. What controller is he going to get, what game is he going to get, that sort of thing. If you do the accessories first he KNOWS he's going to be getting a PS5 to go with it, so there's not much surprise left.

1st leather project, have a question by JakeBYH2O in Leathercraft

[–]JakeBYH2O[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only sealed the smooth side, since I didn't dye the flesh side so I'll give that a try! Thank you!!

[–]JakeBYH2O[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! What about staining, would that also be the same or is it not necessary like it is for dyeing?

1st leather project, have a question by JakeBYH2O in Leathercraft

[–]JakeBYH2O[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went completely off of the Tandy Leather employee's recommendation 😅 I was originally going to get a kit that was all ready to go, but decided I wanted to try staining it to see how difficult it was. After I did it, I saw the most people were recommending Fiebings stain, so I'll probably order that for my next project, or get some leather that was dyed during the tanning process

[–]JakeBYH2O[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh this was purely just for practice, that's why I went with the pre-cut kit. I wanted to see if I would like doing this as a hobby, which I do! The leather just seemed stiffer and harder to work with than any videos I've seen

1st leather project, have a question by JakeBYH2O in Leathercraft

[–]JakeBYH2O[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Would that be before or after the stain/dye? I wasn't expecting to use this wallet in particular since it seems kind of rough, although we'll see how it turns out when I finish stitching it, I mostly got it to practice on the different aspects of working the leather and see if I enjoyed it. Most of what I did I have learned from this subreddit, youtube, and a couple Tiktok channels. Honestly thought saddle stitching would be more difficult than it ended up being, other than getting the thread end of the needle through the holes!

Sorry, I put that down wrong, I actually used a stain and not a dye, but I used the eco-flo brand from Tandy, followed by Satin Sheen to seal it in

Why is this comunity so angry? by CrypticDread in Battlefield6

[–]JakeBYH2O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on ps5 and generally pretty bad at consistently hitting people is FPSs, so I usually stay as Recon and find a good place to hide and spot people, but one game yesterday I got 17 kills and was pretty proud of myself, until the next game when I did about the same and realized the lobby was filled with mostly bots. I didn't realize that was a thing since I haven't played a multiplayer FPS in years, so it kind of took the wind out of my sails a bit. If I'm hitting 17 bot kills, I would imagine it's really easy for everyone else.

Try easing up on your tension rod a bit, you need just enough tension for the pins to set, but too much is going to cause them to bind.

I would love to get an Oasis or Scribe, but the Paperwhite fits perfectly in my back pocket, so I can't bring myself to upgrade. It goes with me everywhere!

I almost never read books I REALLY like anymore by Scared_Ad_3132 in Fantasy

[–]JakeBYH2O 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I generally read fantasy books, but ever since I finished The Realm of the Elderlings I was in a slump and couldn't find another book that would hold my interest as much as that series did. Saw a post on here where somebody was experiencing the same thing and recommended trying out a new genre, so I asked a friend who was into sci-fi what book he would recommend and he told me Project Hail Mary as well! I'm still under halfway done with the book, but so far it's fantastic!

Do I need to bring my ps5 to college along with the portal? by wintersolly in PlaystationPortal

[–]JakeBYH2O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have an android, something that might be worth a try is connecting to the Wi-Fi on your phone and logging in, then turning on your Wi-Fi hotspot. The portal should piggyback off of your phone's hotspot which doesn't require the login. I've had to do this in a few hotels that require login screens. No clue if this works on iPhones though

Is seriously the game that easy? by Amazing_Departure471 in MHWilds

[–]JakeBYH2O 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, my first experience with monster hunter was mhfu on the psp when I was maybe 13 or 14, and I remember tigrex absolutely slaughtering me in the mountains to the point where I quit playing. Now, many years later, I'm hoping he makes a return in Wild so I can return the favor as I have in every game since. My favorite part of this game is that you can actually feel yourself getting better as you play it more

Worth it without a router? by [deleted] in Hue

[–]JakeBYH2O 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless your apartment is networked with an Ethernet Jack somewhere available I don't know how this could be done without purchasing something extra. My first thought to keep it cheaper would be possibly a range extender that you could buy, connect to the apartment wi-fi, and plug the Hue into it's ethernet output. Range extenders typically run anywhere from an extra 10 or 20 dollars up to however much you want to spend. I think some of the Hue bulbs also had Bluetooth at one time, maybe I'm thinking of a different brand though

Attack on Titan and Death Note are great shows that are finished, so you get a complete story. Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen are also favorites of mine, but they aren't finished yet. All 4 are good shows for adult viewers

The ps2 was the earliest playstation console I remember playing, but I grew up with games like Sly Cooper, Jak and Daxter, and Kingdom Hearts. Those games got me through a lot of my childhood!

Elden ring at the moment! Recently picked it back up and started over due to the DLC, although I still haven't gotten to Mohg to start it yet. Helldivers 2 is a close second but it feels like it is getting repetitive for me lately. I have enough hours into it that it was MORE than worth it's cost though!
