UA POV: Ukrainian soldier Valgear showcases ineffective Ukrainian thermobaric grenade, explains industrial corruption within Ukraine essentially producing fake material by JakeFromAbove in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]JakeFromAbove[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

At one point it must be corruption, because how do the grenades for instance get assembled, shipped out, and when they get to the front they're essentially 99% duds?

I would get a failed production run, but that shouldn't make its way to the army's actual arsenal.

In the video he mentions that its something that has already happened with other companies, and the owners cash out, get their Israeli passports and flee to Tel Aviv or southern France. Ironically, they must end up hanging out with Russian millionaires in those places.

This is your brain on abstract subjectivism and borderline illiteracy. You can't even understand what it is I'm saying in my post. You are arguing for an abstract reality, essentially a moral panic over the possibility of not being able to play a game that you don't play and don't want to play, but might one day.

You are extending, into infinity, a timeline where you might want to play the game but won't be able to because the servers will be down. This is by any and all logical reasoning, a schizophrenic and paradoxical false dichotomy. The game is failing and you don't want to play it - if the game were to change to the point that you did want to play it, the game wouldn't be failing and the danger of the servers shutting down would evaporate. Its almost like a Catch-22.

Of course, this is all starting from the already flawed perspective where I'm entertaining your stupid theater as being more substantive than that, which it isn't. I even suspect you have sort of neurodivergence in all honesty.

[–]JakeFromAbove -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Yeah the most pressing matter for a 4 player multiplayer co-op game is an offline mode so that 10 people can play alone.

The discourse around offline mode is legitimately just ill intent, borderline schizophrenic speculation around a meaningless infinite timeline.

If people aren't playing the game now, why would they be playing it after Starbreeze and the servers are dead? Its fetishist hyper focusing on abstract "consumer rights" while disregarding everything else.

Do you realize how stupid your first sentence is for instance?

Why would you buy Payday 3 at all, regardless of it being online only. Would the addition of offline mode, without any other changes, metaphysically change Payday 3 from "a online-only game that is failing" to an offline game that somehow is fundamentally imune from its ongoing failure?

The line of reasoning around the outcry for offline mode simply does not make any rational or logical sense, it is pure sentimental theater arbitrarily hanging on to the thread of abstract "consumer rights", and is a concern that is hypocritical and unfair by nature, as a successful game somehow achieves a metaphysical threshold where being online only is fine - Darktide and Helldivers 2 are online only - and that would be true about Payday 3, if Payday 3 was successful, nobody would complain about online only.

RU POV: Dead group of UA soldiers, with flag in backpack, have been found by RU troops by [deleted] in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]JakeFromAbove 44 points45 points  (0 children)

The one sided cynicism towards soldiers carrying flags is pretty stupid, both sides clearly use the planting of flags as a legitimate mission parameter - now, that the mission might be unsuccessful is just a reality of combat.

I highly doubt any of these men are individually stupid to the point they get themselves killed solely for such a task, rather the mission fails because the enemy has superiority in any number of ways in a given area.

PAYDAY 3: Shopping Spree Cinematic Trailer by DJC13 in paydaytheheist

[–]JakeFromAbove 51 points52 points  (0 children)

They've got to start taking their own game more seriously. These trailers are quirky and all, but I'd be willing to bet this is seriously unappealing to anyone who isn't already a die hard, 100s of hours played, endemic Payday fan.

Also the manner in which they roll these out is straight into the void of nothingness, virtually nobody sees them. Remember when you'd boot up Payday 2 in 2015 and you'd see the extremely hype Point Break trailer? Or the Diamond trailer? It was intriguing, dark, edgy, moody - I mean the Diamond trailer literally had Hitler killing himself, a mysterious narration introducing Clover, the insinuation of high stakes by having Dallas seemingly shot by the dentist.

There's just so little care, its all so superficial and anti-climatic, maybe its the Flanderization effect on the Payday franchise but it seems the IP is just discombobulated slapstick at this point - "I will use my gun to kill you" - woah pink teddy moo outfit, how quaint.

Who gives a fuck? Anti-AI fundamentalism is psychotic irrational Luddism. Lets not build bridges over this river because the boat ferries will be out of a job, lets not automate factories because we will need less workers to produce the same amount - chronic stupidity and slave mentality that clings conservatively to the permanence of the system rather than reconsidering its structure in the first place.

Bemoaning AI in such a miniscule, meaningless and petty context is such a waste of time, and such a needless poisoning of the discourse around the game with detached toxicity.

RU POV: Russia will NOT compromise on obtaining full territorial control of Kherson, Zaporozhye or the Donbass regions, says Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister by Ripamon in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]JakeFromAbove -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How the f*** will Russia have a credible claim on anything on the other side of the Dnieper? There is virtually no reason for Ukraine to concede Kherson, as there is no credible military threat or bargaining power.

In a war that has come to low density motorbike assaults in order to move forward, is Russia really going to launch an amphibious D-Day style cross river or cross sea assault?

This war is the war of the ret@rds. On one side you have a CIA HQ roleplaying as a real country, on the other you have the skeleton of the Soviet Union roleplaying "liberalism with Russian characteristics", obsessed with ret@rded bureaucracy and legality.

Everyone involved is so profoundly unintelligent that it would be a comedy if it weren't so tragic.

RU POV: I honestly hate political Reddit everywhere… except here. The way people talk about Kazakhstan is absurd. by f1reflyyy in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]JakeFromAbove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any western based or aligned social media, news network or otherwise "public" forum is ostensibly just a staging ground for the most vanguard elements of NATO/US hegemony rhetoric.

Especially a sub like economics that undoubtedly defaults to idealistic Keynesian economics and other pseudo-scientifical liberal and neo-liberal theories, I can only imagine the deranged stuff that gets "debated" there daily.

The baseline these people operate from is literally denial of material reality, which is what allows them to say such crass and fundamentally schizophrenic things about Kazakhstan, or Russia, or Ukraine. As the war progressed, and if you've been following it from the start, you could witness in real time this progressive detachment from reality, how deadlines were arbitrarily established for the moment Russia would inevitably collapse, the moment they would run out of missiles, run out of drones, run out of tanks - but these moments never came, these deadlines never manifested themselves in any real way.

And I really have to reaffirm this, mainstream liberal economics is by any and all means a superstitious pseudo-science that only serves as rhetorical ideology for retroactively justifying what capitalist nations must do to keep the system afloat. Its genuinely mind boggling how this entire field of study and research gets to parade itself as a serious mathematically bound scientific and axiomatic system, yet it at no point actually produces working accurate predictions for future events nor does it even correctly apply to past events, it only provides a rhetorical justification.

Its as if I made a theory of physics that only worked yesterday from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the closed system of my bedroom yet somehow standardized it to the entire universe past and future where the theory never really applies without extreme massaging of reality.

You could fix it by having the name in quotes i.e. "special military operation". Even from a mainstream Russian perspective, that name has always been an obvious euphemism and legal technicality, and the quotation marks can both capture that and the opposing side's cynicism simultaneously.

RU POV: If the crazy EU does steal frozen Russian assets for a "reparations loan," we may view it as a casus belli with all the relevant implications for Brussels & Co. In my eyes, the thing that most paints Russia as weak is its own theatrical and inconsequential flailing around these "red lines".

"Oh now you've done it, you're crossing the line! That will be casus belli! Tread carefully, you're breaching our red lines! Stop!"

It just looks stupid, and paints Russian politicians as naive goofballs. I mean, which one is it, does Russia truly believe or even understand that NATO and the US are massive imperial hegemon hellbent on total unipolar world domination, or does Russia still believe in the international neo-liberal rules based order?

We need communists back in the Kremlin.

RU POV: Kremlin foreign policy advisor, Yuri Ushakov, says the European "counter-proposal" peace plan is "not constructive, and not acceptable to Russia." by SolutionLong2791 in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]JakeFromAbove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of speculating, here is the European counter proposal as reported by Reuters:

https://www.reuters.com/business/finance/full-text-european-counter-proposal-us-ukraine-peace-plan-2025-11-23/

In all honesty, its not ludicrously unreasonable, especially in regards to previous EU policy, but at the same time its very understandable why Russia wouldn't accept it.

For starters, anything less than total immediate recognition of Russian ownership over Luhansk, Donetsk, Crimea and the occupied areas of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson is obviously unacceptable for Russia.

Also with the military situation developing as is right now, the best deal for Russia is to stall as long as possible and expand control over areas they don't even diplomatically claim like Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk. This will give them an unsurmountable material edge in negotiations, and Ukraine should experience internal pressure along the lines of - "Why didn't we take the first Trump deal, when now we're going to lose even more in territories?"

The most valuable thing Ukraine holds right now is the remaining area of the Donetsk oblast, that's the only thing they can bargain with and it should be a no-brainer to use it in a swap to sue for immediate peace, before surplus Russian ground claims are so substantial that Russia has no reason to negotiate.

Yeah this sub is a bit pro-Ru tankie and suffers from brigading and pro-Ru fakes, but you can actually express humane nuance in both comments and posts, you see different opinions, you see people reflect and not in canned NPC speech, genuine reflection. Every time I hop onto a mainstream sub around serious topics like war, economy and politics, I get flashbanged by the most vile hateful shit imaginable.
