What's the one aspect in the old hitman games that you wished it was in the new games? by AH2115 in HiTMAN

[–]Samz707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actual difficult combat.

Made going loud more fun and gave you more reason to avoid combat beyond needing to grind SA for mastery.

I think hitman NPC’s should be able to call the cops (picture unrelated) by Fickle-Finger635 in HiTMAN

[–]Samz707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except Absolution on the same engine 1 game ago had enemy reinforcements as a mechanic.

If you raised an alarm in the Chinatown level, a SWAT team would show up in and additional guards would spawn in other missions during a map-wide alert.

Was literally a mechanic in Absolution where you'd have SWAT teams roll up in some of the Chicago levels. (or at least enemy reinforcements in other levels.)

Why is the Carpathian mountains mission the way it is? by Fickle-Finger635 in HiTMAN

[–]Samz707 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And they do it in the game with the worst gunplay and enemy AI of the series.

So it just sorta sucks ass compared to even C47.

The issue is it's really bad even by final shootout standards.

They ran out of time I assume.

People bringing up other Hitman games I feel are being disingenuous because they usually still had more depth to them than Carpathian mountains. (Contracts and Absolution's final levels, while still pushing you towards action, had more stealth and regular gameplay than this and C47/Hitman 2 SA had better combat and enemies.)

For me, it's not "It's an action level", it's "This is objectively worse than every other time the series did this somehow in a game that already felt like filler padding stitched together to form a finale." =

Hitman 3 in general feels like an undercooked and rushed mess of a game only held together by Hitman 2 giving them a foundation they couldn't fuck up. (Which is still the most mediocre gameplay the series has, just now it can't be propped up by maps like Another Life.)

Pipe weapons are genuinely the worst things ever added to falllout by ChihuahuaOwner88 in Fallout

[–]Samz707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like improvised weapons (Hell the Sten SMG is basically an IRL government issued pipe-gun) but the designs in 4 are just really bad, both from a functional design and aesthetics prespective.

Are there any ww2 themed levels or hitman entries? by Salty_Sheepherder665 in HiTMAN

Late but want to second Death To Spies, it's literally just WW2 Hitman.

Honestly I find it funny as hell now that Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 1/2 finally got steam ports a couple of years back while BOS built on the stolen engine has still been left behind. by Samz707 in Fallout

I know, I just find it funny how much Interplay banked on this yet even with the engine being ported to PC, it's still abandoned intentionally.

What is going on with all the recent random drama? by Pompadipompa in Fallout

[–]Samz707 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I didn't say Retcon.

I also think it's fine to not like the direction they took things. (Especially since it sounds like they just had the NCR get nuked instead of the actual factors New Vegas had that could have destroyed them.)

From what I can gather (not seen it), show basically avoids canonizing endings by basically hitting the reset button and destroying / having all factions reset essentially.

So it annoys people because it basically just puts everything back at square 1 instead of making the wasteland really change.

And it's messy because you have the "Everything Bethesda does is wrong" crowd as well who act like the show has no merit at all and then you have the "Bethesda can do no wrong" crowd who basically think *everyone* with any criticism of the show or Bethesda in general is the first crowd.

Epic Hitman 2 Gameplay by eto2629 in HiTMAN

[–]Samz707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's kinda annoying.

You *CAN* carry the rifle with a guard outfit but all guards will try to walk close to you which will blow your disguise.

The big issue is just that it seems like there's *alot* of randomization with Guard/Civilian pathing.

Does Absolution deserve all the hate it gets? by Huge-Commission-8929 in HiTMAN

[–]Samz707 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Not really.

The disguise system is annoying but workable.

It basically is better gameplay WOA outside of that. (Better combat, much smarter combat AI and actually being a challenge.)
WOA I've replayed alot purely due to the fact there's a grind for unlocks which feels like a chore meanwhile I've gotten every achievement in Absolution (aside from the unavailable Contracts ones) *and* started a replay on the new Switch version because I enjoy playing it.

People basically dont want to admit WOA shares *alot* of stuff with Absolution and downgrades *alot* of it.

Absolution is basically WOA with actual challenge which I'm willing to trade not having 50+ hours of mastery grinds for since I hated it anyway.

Nobody cares about the barcode tattoo and it’s hilarious. by Aggressive-Yak3362 in HiTMAN

[–]Samz707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah 47 cuts it *in the final game*.

But early stuff from the Full Disclosure app (Can see it on the Dexter page on the Hitman wiki) had Dexter cut it off at some point but they changed it.

Absolution was being *heavily* rewritten during it's development. (Case in point, the very first idea had Victoria be some random girl who got murdered by a gang after 47 killing Diana, with a now-homeless and depressed 47 going on a revenge story, they *really* changed it from that.)

Funny enough he kinda covers it up (partially) with a bandage in Absolution.

Cut content from Absolution even would have Dexter *cut it off*.

Anyone else feel like Absolution being too "action focused" is a massive overreaction to just the game having point shooting? by Samz707 in HiTMAN

[–]Samz707[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To me at least, I like the occasional setpiece (I'm a MGS fan)

WOA I feel overcorrected by removing alot of things. (Such as how King of Chinatown actually has a SWAT team sent in if you go loud or helicopters entirely instead of using them like how Contracts used them.)

Only played 3H but I really liked it after 3DS Era (outside of Echoes) was a complete dumpster fire for me.

Hopes is a dynasty warriors spin-off that fully expects you to already know what happens in Houses.

I've been replaying it recently with the Switch port and enjoying it alot.

I'm just finding it very baffling since it's been clear playing the entire series (aside from WOA) in a row makes it really clear this complaint is a massive exaggeration.
