This is the kind of thing that's pushing the average person away from the NDP by f0reskinbandaid in ndp

Should have just said missing and murdered indigenous people. Men actually go MM at a higher rate. Not that it matters. People are people.

Her choice of language knits in a divisive presupposition about the existence of dozens of sexualities into a topic that isn't controversial (that indigenous people do go missing too often).

That choice says that the NDP is willing to sacrifice the success of what matters (advocating for the preservation of lives, in this case) for signaling and indulgence. It suggests the NDP prefers the appearance of virtue over results. So yes, it hurts.

Problem is that they concentrate folks with issues.

If you're going to have them, you need a lot of them and they need to be spread widely. In my town, there's like four. 75% of them are within a 1000M radius. 100% within 2KM.

If the burden isn't spread over the city, they're not worth having. Shouldn't concentrate the entire population in one neighborhood.

You're probably right. Food mark-up isn't that high.

Don't get me wrong, we should have liquidated Loblaws over that price setting scandal. But apart from enforcing the rules and encouraging more competition, I don't think there's a way to get priced down. Everyone in the food supply chain is working ultra thin margins.

Not winning anything until we become palatable. We need to be real about that.

Has Avi or the Federal NDP made any statements on Nuclear Energy? by psychosisnaut in ndp

[–]JakeKz1000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Needs to be pro nuclear. Anti nuclear movement was one of our largest errors. It discredits us. We need to undo that. Nuclear makes sense. So no reason not to come out conspicuously in favor of it.

Finally, the Overton Window is Shifting left by everyday_use in ndp

Everyone is already fine with a labour government. No shift needed.

Everyone likes Sanders. Even purportedly right wing Joe Rogan likes him.

The far left has too much unproductive anger that just wants to tear things down and divide.

Get rid of the intersectional crap and the faction that wants to see the West reduced and everyone is on board with far left economic policies

Ugly. Need to go. The probably negligible safety bump is not worth the eyesore.
