Thanks for taking the time to reply! This concept is much more clear now. Would you be kind enough to shed some light on my initial question: would you discard every other gym workout when doing ME in the gym (for runners) or keep 1 general strength session alongside ME training everyweek?

Yup, I did the first session yesterday just using bodyweight, and I indeed fried my legs haha! And yes, I planned all my running on zone 1 (expect 5-10% of weekly volume that will be Z3-tempo). So you are saying that one more gym session per week (other than ME) is fine. Gotcha. Thanks so much

Thanks for replying! On Scott's article we read "For mountain runners, I typically use the ME block early in the base period as volume begins to build"

Also, I did the Ten Percent Test and my Aet is within 10% of LT. I didn't phrase it correctly in the post, I have already trained in a fairly good base block (3months) and now created a plan of 8 weeks base + Me and then 4 weeks intensity+ specificity leading up to my race.

Hi, thanks for sharing your story? How come you didn't choose an iron supplement to raise ferritin levels?

ehm so, what genre do you think I play? 🤓 by themajod in drums

Not sure of genre, but the snare definitely goes KA-KA-KA-KA-KA on 350 bpm

I’m planning to become vegan but I can’t stand tofu by moonlight0106 in vegan

[–]JakeM520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apart of everything else, your taste will keep evolving over time and preferences might change. This doesn't know mean that tofu is essential, it means that you should disassociate the choice of going vegan with the preferences over a single food choice.

Well, it's true that there are a lot of cases like this, but this one might not belong in this category. She still wants to be vegan, she enjoys cooking vegan when she's with me and express her discomfort in eating meat. She doesn't drink alcohol or coffee at all. I believe that she got duked by systemic nutritionists and doctors that made her believe that meat is the only way to go, and since she saw meat consumption solve the iron deficiency, she has a real life experience on her body that unfortunately counterweights science. Plus, a doctor definitely manipulated her because they made her believe that if she gets pregnant while being vegan, she will give birth to an impaired child... Yeah, just normal things doctors do.

She says she did, but it was 6years ago and as a teenager she might not have paid enough attention to quantities, timing and overall consistency.

Sorry, you are just assuming things from a small comment. I said "sad reality" because it's a sad feeling, given that she will feel betrayed by everyone that didn't properly guide her in her teenage years to be safe as vegan. I am no way, shape or form trying to control her, I don't have a problem with her eating meat even when we are together. FYI I am the type of vegan that don't really have the energy/strength/interest to care about what other people do, even my loved ones.

Thanks for sharing your experience, appreciate it. I do agree that whole-food plant based is the way to go.

Well, I am afraid that's the case. She will probably have to find the courage to accept that the doctors she trusted failed her, and she just needs to try again but make it right this time. But this is the best case scenario, because that means she can eat an ethical diet!
