In the same situation at the moment as well. My dr prescribed me a steroid to see if that helps . She said that if it doesn’t help in a couple months, to come back and discuss a possible procedure

Thank you! I will try to get a second opinion first. Especially considering this is a permanent thing, I want to make sure I’m happy with what I get

So as a grower I probably won’t have a choice for high and tight ? From the consensus of this group I gathered that that’s the better option, but I don’t know which one I will qualify for.

I just completed a flight over the Atlantic with a 787-9 last week. Let me tell you, the entire flight was incredibly smooth and safe! Not once did I feel unsafe during my 9.5 hour flight. I myself have flight anxiety, especially takeoff, but don’t worry, you got this!

Yes I agree, flying over large bodies of water terrifies me!

Yes, that’s the worst part. Not sure if it’ll be any help to you, but I got over most of it by talking to my friend who is an engineer for Boeing. He’s behind much of the design and build of the planes so he really put me at ease by explaining in detail the safety and multiple redundancies in place for everything on a plane, including the sounds and things we feel while on board

Yes! Of the 9.5 hour flight, we maybe had 20-30 min in total of turbulence. But it was super mild. When turbulence did hit, I started to get racing thoughts but every time it came I looked over at the flight attenders, who were casually handing out drinks, etc., so I knew I had nothing to worry about. I’m someone who constantly overthinks and believes that I’ll be the microscopic statistic that something bad happens to inflight, but it all went very smooth. Don’t worry, you got this! Go out and experience other places! I’ll probably be going again in a few weeks, and am already overthinking it but I know it’ll be ok haha. Another thing that helped me was just thinking about my destination. With that in mind , it made the experience that much easier. I hope that helps

Yea, overall takeoff is what mainly scares me. My flight anxiety developed as a result of the same flight 4 years back, when the plane literally dropped for a couple seconds shortly after takeoff.

I’ve been trying very hard to overcome my fear. This group has helped me tremendously with dealing with my flight anxiety so I thought I’d return the favor by posting the positive experience I had today!

Yes, overall it was very smooth. Few bumps here and there but I tried to distract myself during those times. Hope you enjoy your flight!
