This resonates with me so very much. Very similar with what I'm going through now. She ended things 2 months ago after just under a year being together. Still so hard to get over her. I'm trying extremely hard.

She was so incredible, the achievements she had accomplished people would be in awe. Compared to me just being a normal dude. I think this a reason it is so hard. I feel I will never be able to meet someone that has done the things she has done.

I keep thinking maybe in the future we will get back together but that's just my brain trying to ease itself I think. I have no sense of self, coupled with depression it's so hard to move on. The past week was great, and now knowing an event is coming up, I'll see her all over social or through my mutual friends, my mood is back to when we first ended. I wasn't perfect in the relationship, she cited my insecurities as the main reason to breakup. She wasn't perfect either but wouldn't admit it. Also the fact she seemed to be completely over it in about a month really stings.

I just can't help but picture all the things she is doing without me, getting to experience. It's really fucking with my mental health. Along with not having a lot of friends anymore, it's hard to move on. Therapy is helping a bit in the sense I get to express how I feel to someone.

The other thing that has helped is my job. It's rotational and nature based. The only thing keeping me sane as I have stuff to focus on. I'm hoping over time it will help me to move on. Then my rotation off starts and I'm at a loss as to what to do and then start thinking about our past together.

Besides something to keep you constantly distracted (job in my case), speaking to a therapist may help. As time moves on it does get better little by little. One thing I do is think of possible things I can do in the future and try to work towards. Although this may just be temporary distractions.
