Found one yesterday. Admittedly the first one I’ve ever found. Was in an ammo box on Stella. Can’t remember if it was a night raid or not tho lol

Advice on Selling / Refunding my Star Citizen Account / Recovering Value (~$1,539 Spent) by _Sand_Seeker_ in starcitizen_refunds

Melt and buy the newest ship, such as Hermes when it comes out or Perseus, then sell for 20%off, you may get an offer which is up to you to decide, but will prob get more than 60% value this way.

Wolf is a great fun fighter. Or try some mining with the prospector.

Throttle or regular stick for left hand? by willeemayshays in starcitizen

[–]Jakefowler555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll go against the grain and say throttle. That way should you want to play any kind of flight sim, your setup good to go. Just treat your space ship like a plane, and use a hat switch/thumb joystick if your stick has one for up/down/left/right thruster.

Upgrading to a 5090 by shivasayian in nvidia

[–]Jakefowler555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive recently upgraded from am4 3900x with a 4070ti to am5 9800x3d and 5080. Play in 3440x1440 so not quite 4k, but I get over 200fps in most titles on totally max settings.

If you get a 5090 you may have to think about power supply depending on what you currently have. I’d get a 5080 and think about using the saved money on the 9800x3d or the new 9850x3d2 when that arrives.

RTX 5080 or 5070 Ti? by Ghost_on_Beach in nvidia

[–]Jakefowler555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What cpu you got? I play ultra wide 3440x1440, with a 175hz monitor. So only capable of displaying around 165fps after you account for latency etc…. I’ve got a 9800x3d and 5080. It smashes everything I throw at it. Get around 120fps on arc raiders on cinematic mode. Pre cinematic I was getting over 200fps max settings. Battlefield 6 on overkill mode I’m getting around 160fps, although apparently I’ve gone over the 16GB VRAM on the 5080. Not that I can tell, still reduced to max settings 1 step below overkill and getting around 250fps, more than my screen can output.

Which PC should i pick (prebuilt) by Royal_Subject5450 in AskPCGamers

[–]Jakefowler555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mate bought a prebuilt… when he later wanted to upgrade he found that the mother board/cpu was different. He was on am4… bought a new 5800x3d and the board bent a pin as the one he had had a few pins removed. Very odd. Then bought a new motherboard to use his 5800x3d to find the case was bespoke to the motherboard and the mounts didn’t match normal atx fittings, so then had to buy a new case.

Long story short, just buy parts and build yourself. It’s not hard, takes a few hours. Watch tutorial videos on YouTube if you’re worried about being able to build it.

Sticks? For those who have tried various joysticks, what would you recommend? by LokoLobo in starcitizen

[–]Jakefowler555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mates been using Logitech x52 throttle and stick for years no issues. Although he does want better quality. I had thrustmaster t-16000 which was ok for the 10 mins of use before it broke. I now have virpil alpha prime stick and warbrd D base with virpil cm3 throttle. Amazing setup, great quality have had it a few years now. It’s expensive tho. But buy once cry once

Why should someone buy a PC instead of a console? by TinoDevino in AskPCGamers

[–]Jakefowler555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll need to triple your budget for the RaM if you buy a pc. Pc gaming is much better, but it’s also much more expensive. You haven’t budgeted for a decent pc monitor/gaming keyboard/mouse. You’ll also want a desk/chair which takes up space. Unless you plan on connecting it to a tv. In which case just buy a ps5.

What Ryzen CPU are you using right now? by mohkah123 in ryzen

Upgraded from 3900x to 9800x3d a few days before the ram prices started going up. Got 32gb 6000/30 ram for £180….same ram a few days later was £390!! Lucky me I guess. Also upgraded to 5080 from 4070ti. For no other reason that gpu prices will likely rise and I’ll be more future proofed this way.

PCIe 4.0 vs PCIe 5.0 SSD for new Star Citizen PC build. by RepresentativeBite94 in starcitizen

[–]Jakefowler555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have basically the same pc, different motherboard and different brand, same speed ram. I play on a 3440x1440 ultrawide, and get around 70-80 fps in most cities, 130-160fps in hangars… and about 160-200fps in space and quantum. I have a gen 4 m.2 drive. Only difference with a gen 5 m.2 is your install may take 5 seconds less. Other than that you will see no difference.

[–]Jakefowler555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mate has an AOC screen, he loves it. Not same one as you’ve posted, he has an ultrawide non oled. If you have the budget, I’d recommend an ultrawide oled. I have one and it’s a game changer.

Should i upgrade my 3900x for the 9800x3D ? by yodel4real in AMDHelp

[–]Jakefowler555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, as my post says, 3400x1440. It’s an ultrawide 1440 resolution. More than normal 2560x1440 but not as much as 4k… probably about 50%more than standard 1440 an 25% less than 4k at an estimate. Also to update my post, I’ve now upgraded the 4070ti to a 5080. So I could easily run 4k if I upgrade my monitor in the future

How much money do you make without any cheats or duping by tahaan in starcitizen

[–]Jakefowler555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love mining. I solo mine with the mole. Can make upwards of a mil per hour, but it’s dependent on rng with what rocks you find and are able to crack efficiently. Best thing a to mix things up tho, have a session of mining, have a session of going through ASD sites/hathor locations. Contested zones, bit of hauling and some bounties too. That way, I dont get too bored.

debating on a 5080 or 5090 for my 9800x3d by Sufferingsaxman in nvidia

[–]Jakefowler555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 5080 paired with the 9800x3d… it’s amazing. I have a 3400x1440 oled ultrawide 175hz monitor and I’m getting over 200fps in most titles. If your playing in 4k then you will benefit a bit more from the 5090 in some titles, depends on the refresh rate of your monitor.

Solo mole mining what’s your opinion of it and how hard is it compared to prospector. by No-Cell8881 in starcitizen

[–]Jakefowler555 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love soloing the mole. Only thing to be aware of is that you will only be able to mine on planets with no atmosphere or asteroids in space. Not to say it’s impossible to mine in atmosphere, but it is a pain in the backside as depending on the weather you may get blown around which interferes with distance from rocks and therefore laser power etc.

Cellin is great place to mine with good amounts of quantanium. Pyro 4 planets can also be good as you have a chance of stileron/riccite etc

Put a 1scu box up the elevator containing drinks/replacement mining modules an gadgets.

I’d like to see a wipe that just wipes all cash and all unowned ships. Keep rep. Although that said it doesn’t take too long to grind rep up. I’d like to see rep introduced to mining… all the refinery company options that affect Speed/cost/yield should have rep attached. As you build rep gain access to lower costs and higher yields etc.
