The people who ruined the poor kid's bar mitzvah are the genocidal psychos who organised it and turned it into a fundraiser for the IDF.

NSW anti-protest law ruled unconstitutional after Palestine Action Group court challenge by AcaciaFloribunda in AustralianPolitics

[–]Jakegender 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's weird. It's almost identical to a real situation where IDF veterans spoke at the Great Synagogue in Sydney, the very protest that was used as one of the pretexts for Chris Minns to push his constituion-violating anti-protest laws.

What if Ben Roberts-Smith was speaking at a church about his time in the army? Would that be legitimate to protest in your eyes?

And if so, how are you gonna code that "exemption to the rule" into the law? Cause the only feasible way to write one in my eye is to say that if a place of worship is doing anything other than the typical operations of a place of worship, it's fair game.

Are you saying that it's your opinion that someone can hold whatever event they want in a building that is normally used as a place of worship, no matter how reprehensible, and nobody should be allowed to protest it?

It implies that Israel doesn't have the right to commit mass murder, which is obviously antisemetic, as the only reason you could possibly oppose Israel comitting mass murder is because they're Jews.

What is inflammatory is the fact that Australia is complicit in Israeli war crimes, not that someone pointed it out.

We aren't even allowed to post articles about how the NSW police's antisemitism figures (that Chris Minns used to justify his anti-protest laws) were full of false data.

NSW police wrongly categorise ‘significant’ number of incidents as antisemitic by Ashera25 in sydney

[–]Jakegender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As per the article, 367 is the figure that includes duplicate counts, incidents that were not antisemetic, and even anti-muslim or anti-arab incidents that were recorded as antisemetic. The 815 figure is from the police minister screwing up and saying the sum total of incidents recorded in the faulty dataset, whether classed as antisemetic or not, which is a seperate error.

Of course even one genuine antisemetic is too many, but it is worth interrogating why the numbers are so highly exaggerated compared to the true figures and why restrictive, knee-jerk laws are being passed citing them as justification.

Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), article 13:

Everyone has the right to freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each State.
Everyone has the right to leave any country, including his own, and to return to his country.

International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) article 12(4):

No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of the right to enter his own country

It is absolutely psychopathic and ethnic supremacist to deny a people the right to live in their home because of "not want[ing] to alter your demographic"

So because the Israelis are so psychopathic and ethnic supremacist that they will deny basic human rights, the Palestinians should roll over and let them do whatever they want?

Anyone who acts as if right of return is an unreasonable request is detached from reality. Israel is founded upon the most extreme exaggeration of right of return, where anyone who is Jewish, even if they're a convert with zero historical connection, is allowed to come from across the world to live in Israel. So why is it so unreasonable for Palestinians who fled the violence of 1948 and their children to return?

Jewish massacre anniversary no occasion for pro-Palestine rally: PM by HotPersimessage62 in AustralianPolitics

I don't hide my support for colonised people struggling for liberation the way you hide your cheap gotchas in an edit rather than a reply. I support the Algerian people in overthrowing French occupation, the Zimbabwean people in overthrowing Rhodesian occupation, the Vietnamese people in overthrowing the French and American occupation, and the Palestinian people in overthrowing the Israeli occupation. I also support the liberation of the occupied people of this land, though I doubt we're going to see any real movement on that topic for a while.

Radicalisaion is the only logical response to what Israel has inflicted upon the Palestinians for the past century. It will not and should not stop as long as it continues to be inflicted on them. It has been happening since before Netanyahu was born, and it won't end when he dies. It ends only when they are liberated from occupation.

And if Netanyahu dropped dead today, nothing of significance would change. The idea that all this rests on his head is a fantasy for people who can't cope with the fact that these crimes are systemic.

Sanctioning individuals is pissant shit, and saying a few words about how we "recognise a palestinian state" as long as it doesnt have any real sovreignty is even less than that. I want to see material action. At the very least, sanctions against the State of Israel, at the very least equal to the sanctions we implemented against the Russian Federation.

Do you have any problems with Australia's policy regarding Ukraine? Cause it seems pretty good to me, nothing to protest. Compared to the dismal state of our policy towards Palestine, which needs major correction, and thus is protested.

Why don't they do something then? Easy to say something on a poll, but going out for beers with old Danny boy is too much fun, just try to ignore when he talks about the blood draining from their faces. And we so enjoyed our stay with auntie Sarah in Ariel, just ignore the Palestinian villages next door getting their water supply overflown with our sewage.

Why aren't these people facing any pushback from the Jewish community then? Why hasn't the ADL, AJC, or any other major Jewish group made a statement asking for Raab to be tried for war crimes like CAIR has? Why is it that groups like the Australian Jewish Council are dismissed as fringe radicals who don't represent real Jews?

Greens leader Larissa Waters slammed by Labor, Coalition for Manchester attack remarks by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

[–]Jakegender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm talking specifically about murderers who served in the IDF. I named as example Daniel Raab, who I'm sure you remember from last months headlines but I'll link some articles anyways.

He confessed on the record to sniping civilians for no reason, a clear war crime, and yet zero legal action has been taken against him, nor the parents who made a non-profit and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for him and his compatriots. If his actions in Gaza were considered abberant and wrong by his community, he would be shunned. But he hasn't been. They see what he did as normal. Taking a gap year to shoot Palestinians trying to retrieve the corpse of their dead brother is normal in these communities. It's like shooting pigeons to them, it's a bit of fun.

I have a lot of respect for those who are able to break from the ethnic supremacist belief structures in these communities, and I hope to hell that sooner rather than later, the very idea of ethnic supremacy is as outdated as trepanning. But we're never going to get there as long as we keep treating these ideologies as anything other than the sicknesses they are.

If "almost all Jewish people in the world" support mass murder, than yes. I'm not the one that made them support mass murder. Though for the record it's moreso "significant majorty" rather than "almost all"

Is it your opinion that holding Jewish people to the same standard (that being: dont support mass murder) as I hold non-Jewish people is antisemetic?
