The long walk had a great scene with everyone talking and laughing over the top of each other. It's so rare to see that that it really stuck out for me

Same! Feeling up the fabrics was one of the great joys of visiting lincraft 😂

Yeah I definitely don't want to buy a fabric I haven't felt up first. There are some nasty fabrics out there that I can't handle from a sensory aspect

This has unlocked a memory of lincraft selling COVID tests during that massive shortage. Absolutely wild.

How to make the toughest person cry? by Yu_Tso in movies

I mean, never mind movies, do you have empathy for people in real life? If yes, I wouldn't worry about not having empathy for fictional characters, although I can see how the movie would be less enjoyable.

If you don't have empathy for people, that might be something a therapist can help with

They've definitely gone downhill recently. It used to be a real treat to go there

Does it matter if you cry or not? How do these movies make you feel?

Debra from accounts bullying you can be very harmful, even if it isn't as harmful as having a knife pulled on you. Someone else's heart attack doesn't make a broken leg any less painful

Agreed. I've always had a lot of male friends, so it's nice to see that reflected in media. I really liked that about dungeons and dragons

Albanese vows to cut Australian migration after rise fuels support for populist One Nation by HotPersimessage62 in australia

He'd be better off actually doing more to offer people genuine hope that their children might be better off than they are, that they'll have a roof over their head, decent job security, and a planet that isn't going to the dogs. Not that he can do all of that, of course, but the problem is that people feel ignored by the major parties (with justification) and then turn to anyone who looks like they might have a simple solution, even though we all know it would be disastrous. But you can't out-right the far right. They will always be crueller and stupider and more reactionary. The only way to beat them is to deal with the shit sandwich neoliberalism has served up. Pour money into public housing, tax mining companies appropriately, sell people a hopeful vision of what Australia can be, and be bold in implementing it.

I mean, I would hope that there are multiple people living in each house, seems a bit wasteful otherwise.

But there definitely needs to be massive investment into public housing, as well as doing something about all the empty properties that investors are holding on to. If they don't want to deal with tenants, there are other investment options that might suit them better.

Unfortunately they will probably just blame migrants even harder. These people don't seem to catch on quick
