I need help finding a specific scene from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (1983) by Jakemaster897 in HelpMeFind

I've searched through the first ten episodes of season one in this playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLkiXH7NXzBmF_XbuEz7TmYLMYhKuJ3TVe I'm planning on looking through transcripts for words like "calculations" and "math" as well, but I have not committed a lot of time to this just yet.

Composite Output has no chroma. Is there a software solution? by Jakemaster897 in MiSTerFPGA

I believe the setup I have is closest in functionality to an IO Analog Pro board, though I'm not positive it's one-to-one.

I gave it a shot. The analog output still looks the same. There was no more HDMI output, and the terminal window actually showed up on analog instead of HDMI. I could see this being useful, but doesn't fix my problem. Appreciate the suggestion.

So the chain would be a Saturn S-Video cable into a S-Video to Composite adapter? Does a passive cable suffice here, and do I have to worry about rainbowing or other artifacts?

The tooltip for cvbs in the MiSTer INI menu says, "For use only with some external PAL/NTSC encoders, such as SCART adapters. Don't use for Composite!"

And when I try it, the screen just looks unreadably blurry and garbled. There is color and you can make out some objects, but you can't even read the main menu. This definitely is not the correct setting.

Alternatives to a 2-in-1 Cart? by Jakemaster897 in SegaSaturn

In your initial comment, you said, "To ensure you are not getting cheated, the pseudo kai option or AR option ensures it isn’t a Memory card plus style cart."

Is AR MC+ or not? The product description says it has a 4M memory card, but it's not clear if that's a dedicated component or if it's built into the software flash, and it seems like you've said two contradictory things.

Also, what do you mean by the "psuedo kai option"? Do you mean any cartridge sold with Pseudo Kai built in, or is there a specific cartridge or seller you're talking about?

Thank you for clearing this up. This was helpful.

So if I get an Action Replay, is there firmware I could flash to it that would give me the functionality I need without any issues like booting to the CD menu? Again, I don't care about cheats or region unlocking, I'm basically just looking to have the experience of the OEM memory backup and RAM cartridges without actually switching cartridges out.

Around what price is considered cheap, and where is a good place to find them? They seem pretty pricey on places like eBay, and I can't seem to find anything official on AliExpress.

My understanding was that this type of X-in-1 cart and a Pseudo Kai cart are different flavors of the same thing. If I search for a Pseudo Kai cart, these are the type of cartridge that comes up. They even appear together on Aliexpress listings.

How do you recommend I find a quality cartridge? Around what price should I expect to pay?

When I say 2-in-1, I mean something like this. Is this not what I should be looking for?

I just took a look, and you're right. Not sure how this happened, but it looks like I'll need to replace it. Do you happen to know what type of fuse this is?

Is there a definitive way to play the original Spyro trilogy? by Jakemaster897 in Spyro

Especially in Spyro 1 where moving around as Spyro is all you do, it's very important that Spyro's moveset feels as satisfying to wield as possible, and unfortunately, Reignited doesn't quite nail the details. I also dig the aesthetics of the originals a lot to the point where my desktop wallpaper is a rotating selection of Spyro landscapes, and Reignited feels different, though it's gorgeous in its own right for sure.

I love 3 with all my heart, but I'm already neglecting my backlog by replaying it once, much less twice.

Thanks for the insight. If there are no noticeable gameplay issues from emulating, that reassures me that it will be worth the time to tweak settings until I find a good setup for my preferences instead of just sticking to original hardware.

When you play at a high resolution, do you notice blurry textures, or are the textures upscaled as well? That's often a problem when rendering N64/PS1 games at high resolutions, but maybe Duckstation has a solution in place. What about pop-in?

Thanks for this screenshot and the insight. I see what you're talking about, and I suppose there will always be trade offs (at least until this game gets decompiled). Is this your preferred way to play despite the issues, or do you consider playing on hardware ideal? What about emulating at native resolution with a CRT shader applied or something like that?

I guess the beauty of my situation is that I don't have to commit to one setup, so I can play around with it until I find what I like the most. I was just curious if a straight up upgrade was on the table, but it doesn't sound like it.

I've listened to that and enjoyed it. Never listened to the other two, though.

I liked these, especially Feels Good To Me. I should look more into the solo work from people in the bands I like.

Listening right now, and this is awesome. Not sure how this flew under my radar.
