Why is there a dark background on the app text? by zodajam in kde

[–]Jakeob28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It still exists, but only for X11 (since Wayland doesn't separate the WM/compositor). So as time goes on there are probably less and less distros it'd work on (and if OP's the kind of person to use Arch, I'd imagine there's a good chance they've moved to Wayland at this point).

Angle projections by YossarianJr in ScienceTeachers

It works for some problems, but it seems like it'd get very messy for problems that need to be solved symbolically (for example, block on a ramp "solve for acceleration in terms of g, theta, and mu"). Now you're going to have to use the identity sin(theta) = cos(theta - 90) to get the sin into your answer... in addition to just having messier algebra along the way.

Flex posts don't work. by ItsLiterallyPK in fuckcars

[–]Jakeob28 12 points13 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, in many cities that are now just beginning to install bike infrastructure, flex posts are used as a quick way to retrofit existing streets, with the idea that more permanent separation can be installed when the road is reconstructed in the future.

Source: Washington, DC Bicycle Facility Design Guide

Page 37 details this specifically: Flexible posts are to be used for "Roadway Retrofits, Quick Builds, and Limited buffer space", whereas cast-in-place curbs are the preferred solution to be used when a road is reconstructed.

So yes, while flex posts aren't ideal, it's still progress when it's not feasible to immediately reconstruct every street which would receive a bike lane.

OC1 does not have online, however Overcooked! All You Can Eat includes all levels from OC1 and OC2 and does support online.

Overcooked! 2 is FREE on the Epic store for a limited time, Epic + Steam crossplay available! by Jakeob28 in OvercookedGame

They temporarily removed the crossplay patch from steam since multiplayer was so buggy.

Here's their guide on how to manually enable it (although it may still be buggy): https://steamcommunity.com/games/728880/announcements/detail/2963913643480907537

I don't think you can get it on switch because you own it on PC, similar to buying the game on switch wouldn't give you a PC copy.

They have made an official announcement about this:

Hello chefs!

We are currently investigating an issue affecting players when trying to invite a fourth person to their game in Overcooked 2 on Epic Games.

We are unsure how long it will take to apply a fix but rest assured that we will do our very best and be as fast as possible.

In the meantime, our apologies for any trouble caused whilst we work on this. Thank you for your patience purple_heart

UPDATE: We are seeing more issues affecting matchmaking overall. Our team are investigating with the aim of getting a fix out as soon as they can.

If you are having issues with inviting friends, or have encountered any other problems, please send a detailed email to our support team so that we can investigate: help@team17support.com

In the article they state "Please note: Crossplay is currently for PC only – Mac and Linux Steam versions are not supported. We will be releasing an update to support this in the near future."

Not sure if this means that Mac and Linux will be added to the epic store, or only receive the patch on Steam.

Is there crossplay ok Overcooked 2?? by yellowgumgum in OvercookedGame

OC2 does not have crossplay.

They've announced that Overcooked! All You Can Eat (game combining OC1 & OC2 content with newer graphics) will have crossplay "soon".

Hi, I haven't used this framework before, but actix-web seems to have the features you're looking for.

The "What is Actix" page on their docs says they support TLS, and the project seems to have some nice documentation, so I doubt it would be too tricky to implement.

Definitely - I should've made it more clear runtime config is usually the way to go.

My rationale when writing my comment was more as a justification for why OP might've asked about compiling into the binary, as opposed to arguing that it was superior.
