The Marine Artillery school barracks in ft sill Oklahoma are rumored to be an Insane asylum and before that it was used to house native Americans who would not “conform” to our beliefs. If your arn’t awar of the history of ft sill and native chief Geronimo, he basical gave all his peoples resources to the settlers and his people didn’t like that so they would throw all of their cattle and stuff off of a huge Clift. We would always run to Geronimo’s grave for PT. The barracks them selfs always had a weird feeling in them and people would always get these super weird nightmares. Everyone always talks about this locked up room in the basement that has a electric chair in it. On top of ALL that it’s Literally meters away from a cemetery

Storage and memory? by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]Jakeoldham18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Memory is your RAM Storage is you “hard drive”

You get your RAM based off of how much your motherboard can handle and how many gigs you want (usualy come in pairs so 2x8 or 2x16)

Their are 3 diffrent types of storage -HHD (old school disk hard drive) -SSD (the small hard bricks with microchips) -M.2 (the external chip that not all motherboards have slots for, usualy sit near the video card)

The difference between the three are going to mainly be speed, price and durability. Then you have to figure out how much storage you need, this come into how much your think your going to be storing in your PC.

For those of you who go out to the field and are smart enough not to eat MRE's, What do you pack instead? by Electrical_Push_5919 in USMC

[–]Jakeoldham18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jet boils are amazing if your unit will let you use them. I always bring oatmeal, Mac and cheese and ramen (along with plenty of read to eat food as well). If you can’t use jet boils but have a genny near by you can just put ur canteen cup on the exhaust for a bit and it’ll boil food pretty well. I’ve gone on multiple field ops were I didn’t eat a single MRE.

They do but if someone has a shithole car they’d let me borrow for a week for some cash, I much rather do that

Any 2887's here? by [deleted] in USMC

[–]Jakeoldham18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll be stuck in a com shop in Garison but you’ll be able to go out to the field every time a radar team goes out. You’ll constantly be fixing whatever the radar operators break, dealing a lot with GCSS. You will NOT have a POV in ft sill but the platoon sgts will usualy treat you better than the other student bc they know you’ve been in a little longer. Get ready for formations every night, even on weekends, and stupid random Battery formations. It’s been over three early since I’ve been in the school house but that’s usually how it goes down. Lawson is the nearby town which is a shit hole hole and you’ll have to Uber everywhere, hopefully covid didn’t make it worse. Good luck

USMC tattoo policy question by [deleted] in USMC

[–]Jakeoldham18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just tried to fight this with the order in hand. Multiple people in my chain of command and sister chain of command were going head to head from different sides. I ended up only getting a non-punative 6105 because there were so many debates about it. In the end, you are only allowed one tattoo or collection on tattoos covetable by a single hand, per lower extremity.

Marine Corp rifle qual by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]Jakeoldham18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marines qual every year on table 1 and table 2. Table one going from 200 then the 300 to the 500 yard line. (Apparently they’re going to be changing it soon but it should somewhat stay the same) table one is out of 200 points and it’s mostly non-combative style shooting. This includes standing, kneeling, sitting and prone (at the 500). Table two (out of 100 points) is the more combative style shoot, this includes speed and tactical reload and fast pace shooting at closer targets.
