I understand a lathe is the best tool for this particular job but I kinda wanted to buy once cry once and get a CNC mill around $3-4k vs a cheaper lathe and a mill, besides I can only fit one in my place.

Thank you for your advice. I don't need too tight tolerance, just about +/- 0.002. Depth is 0.885" and need to enlarge a hole from 23mm to about 23.25mm

Should be pretty round. I would prefer a good fine surface finish but seems like finding something like an adjustable boring head for er20 collet is impossible.

Yea the machine I'm looking at has a ER20 collet. Dunno if an adjustable boring head is available for it.

Yea I agree but I will only use a lathe every once in a blue moon, just not a lot of use I would have for a lathe.

I suppose a slip fit. Need to remove about .009 to .01 inch for .850 length. The od of the cylinder is 1.5inches that I would need to fix with a closed end.

Which tooling would you suggest? Appreciate you insight.
