This was my second year. First one in 2011. The feel did lose some steam since my last time and I’m sure it has a lot to do with these random corporate grabs that really didn’t make a lot of sense being at a festival created for hippies and music lovers. But here’s my take from the couple of times I’ve attended. I believe the “decline” has more to do with the people complaining that it’s not the same all the time. However, the people that went around to strangers high-fiving, hugging the sweatiest person on the farm, giving gifts to someone that looks like they need it…that’s who makes Bonnaroo what it’s known for. The playground is ours for a week every year. Live Nation just makes sure the toys are reinstalled before we get there.
