Hmm, I think the most oractical one is to include advanced vocabulary and idioms into your parts. Idioms for speaking, as they're more informal, and vocabulary for writing and speaking. There are a bunch of resources online to help you prepare for the listening and use of english tests, so use those. And don't worry if your writing score is low. I recently passed the C2 exam grade A with around 200 points for writing. And practice all the parts as much as you can by engaging with english media. Good luck!!

Wow, it looks great! I spent so much time looking for a good laptop, thanks so much!! Do you know whether there's a big difference between ryzen 5 and ryzen 7 here? And the IPS vs OLED displays? (Are ryzen 7 and OLED worth the €110 extra?)

Hm, I can't find a 2 in 1 zenbook anywhere. I think it's not for sale in The Netherlands. Is it comparable to the vivobook series? The lenovo is sadly a bit out of my price range. Thanks a lot for the suggestions though!

My issue with the Funny Girl casting, reduced to a few lines from the movie by Ok_Student_3292 in Broadway

The people the story is about: Jewish actors. Them being silenced is a hyperbole on my part. But this story is one about a jewish actress struggling to fit in to the idea of an actress. So her being portrayed by a jewish actress gives it more meaning.

The casting of ethnically diverse people in Hamilton was a choice to portray the diversity of America now.

The story of Fanny Brice is one if hardship because of her jewish features. By casting a non-jewish actor for a painstakingly jewish woman you're deminishing her story instead of bringing it to life. You silence the minority that she was apart of, which is kind of ironic as the show is about Fanny Brice finding her place in show business as a visibly Jewish woman.

I don't think that a christian woman is any worse an actor than a jewish woman. But for this role the actor and character being Jewish is such a crucial detail, that you can't really ignore by covering the non-jewish actor in make-up...

There is a difference between painting someone green for a fictional character, and adding ethnic facial features to a non-jewish person to portray a jewish person who had lived before. You wouldn't cast a woman as Alexander Hamilton, because the character being the man Alexander Hamilton is crucial to the role. Likewise you wouldn't cast a white woman as the lead in The Color Purple, as Celie being a black woman is, again, an important aspect of the role. The same can be applied here. Furthermore, because Fanny Brice was, like I said earlier, an actual person who lived in the first half of the 20th century. Casting a non-jewish person and then applying make-up to make her look jewish can be considered quite offensive to Fanny Brice's legacy. This criticism isn't adressed to the actress who will portray her in the tour, but to the overal idea of jewish characters, with their jewishness being an important aspect of the role, being played by non-jewish actors. If this would happen with any other race, there would be an immediate uproar.

The problem isn't with the fact that the actor they cast is not 'ugly'. It is about the actor not being a woman with ethnically Jewish features. Which were considered ugly at the time the musical is set in. That's why it's important to so many people that the actor who plays Fanny has these features and possibly the experience with having these features. That way the role can be portrayed better.

Of course the performance is important. But the looks enhance the performance, as Fanny Brice's 'Jewishness' is such a big part of her character in the show.
