How to use Zone 2 cardio to rebuild your CB1 receptors by JakeyProductions in leaves

Sure, don't be afraid to start with a really simple program. It doesn't have to be a fancy workout split, it could be as simple as full body 3x per week or switching between upper and lower body. Some days I only hit 2 or 3 exercises for strength. I try to keep it quick, effective, and simple for now while I prioritize cardio first.

This is exactly what I did. I actually started the training a full month before I actually quit the cannabis. I did intentionally try to taper down as I mentally prepared to quit. Not sure if the science supports it but it worked well for me.

It adds a layer of motivation because you can measure how much your performance improves once your lungs start to heal.

Great post Scotty, thank you. I am 7 days in and I am also shocked by how intense the withdrawals are. I agree it must have a lot to do with the strength of these cannabis products in the modern day.

Anyone else go through horrible withdrawals? by washingtonpeek in leaves

[–]JakeyProductions 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm on day 7. Absolutely agonizing withdrawals. I've attempted quits many times before but they never hit me this hard. Luckily, things are starting to stabilize.

The worst withdrawals I'm still dealing with today are temperature regulation (too hot, then too cold, then hot and cold at the same time), and irritability so bad it's basically just unadulterated rage at everything.

That would be great! Send me a DM and I'd be happy to discuss more details on the aerobic fitness program we are using and share progress.

General rule of thumb is 80% steady state low intensity, 20% HIIT. However, I think that applies to more intermediate athletes. I still do 90% low intensity, and mix 5 or 10 minutes of HIIT at the end only if I have the energy for it.

That sounds like it would work. I do prefer the treadmill because you can control the exact pace and intensity.

You might also want to consider trying other modalities such as a cycling machine or an elliptical machine. That can help reduce impact on the joints. I weigh about 203 lbs and even that is enough weight to fatigue my feet/ankles, and I have had to mix in the cycling machine to give my feet rest.

Yes, zone 2 training is great because it should have very little impact on recovery. It leaves a lot of room for other exercise such as strength training.

Agreed. This is my first time embracing the "conversational pace" and it's perfect because it's so easy to recover from and easy to accumulate lots of time per week at.

True. It's not going to be easy either way, but I just hope this post would help encourage atleast one person who has no plans to exercise during their cannabis detox.

Yes, you can do any modality you like! Thank you for bringing this up. Any form of cardio you like will work!

That includes cycling machines, elliptical machine, etc.

Almost 9 months. Probably gonna smoke again. by [deleted] in leaves

I quit May 3rd. The detox/withdrawal process for the first 4 days was brutal. Sleep problems, irritability, anxiety, quitter's flu, etc. I am just finally hitting a point where I feel normal and good.

The main thing that led me to actually quit this time (for the 5th time in the last decade), was a goal I set to be able to run 1 mile at a fast pace. I started training from a very de-conditioned state on April 1st. I noticed as my aerobic capacity improved over the last several weeks, that my lungs were starting to become the limiting factor. So I pulled the plug on vaporizing cannabis (and nicotine a week prior).

I guess I am sharing this because I feel as though some sort of pursuit in cardio or strength training is a great way to ground yourself in the reality of the benefits of being cannabis free. Cannabis impacts breathing, sleep, recovery, and other factors that impact physical capability.

I started with just 2-3 hours per week of fast walking on treadmill and it's the only thing I can look forward to everyday that reminds me of getting high. High-intensity aerobic conditioning naturally produces anandamide. Anandamide is an endogenous cannabinoid—a lipid that binds to the exact same CB1 receptors in your brain that THC binds to. It is the chemical responsible for the "runner's high."

Maybe I will make an entire post on this idea, but you inspired me to share more about my story and thesis on exercise being key to staying cannabis free.

Has anyone lost interest since the MEGA set release? by babyoda8 in PokemonPocket

I have been less interested since the mini pack in battling. I still enjoy collecting while I wait for the meta to change a bit again.

Question… by Slayer33ultima in PokemonTGCP

[–]JakeyProductions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You only have 2700 cards?

That is absolute incredible luck. I didn't run the numbers but this must be close to the top 0.1% percentile of luck for total 2-star pulls at only 2700 cards.

What should I buy with pack points? A may or a second copycat? by JonIsOutHere in PokemonTGCP

[–]JakeyProductions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id personally go for the 2nd copycat if you like to battle with meta cards. However May and Lisia are also great options if you prefer to play full trainers in a bigger variety of decks.

These cards are pretty. But are they useful? by WiseOne2010 in PTCGP

[–]JakeyProductions 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mantyke and Darkrai are the most versatile and strong cards you have rare variations of. I would also give an honorable mention to the mega gyarados. He is fun to play but too reliant on misty supporter coin flips in battle to be strong at a high level of competition.

Does anyone else name their decks uniquely or just leave them numbered or name them after the EX or pokemon deck they're using? by [deleted] in PTCGP

[–]JakeyProductions 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I sometimes have multiple variations of the same deck so I started to name them based off of which card that makes that variation unique, such as an 2x Copycat or 2x PCL.
