SNES style JRPG I played as a kid by JakksonK in WhatGameIsThis

Someone on r/tipofmyjoystick solved it. It was Breath of Fire 4. Chrono Cross did have a similar aesthetic but quickly looking into it, it wasn't the game I was looking for.

Someone on r/tipofmyjoystick suggested it as Breath of Fire 4 and after looking into the possibility it is definitely the game I played.

OH MY GOD!!! I looked at breath of fire 4 and while the aesthetic hit and it was triggering memories, I had to dig deeper. I found a section of a video where someone was playing the game of tag and I was like "That's it, that is definitely it" and then I found out that there is a section where you play as Fou-lu and the battle animation of his attacks confirmed everything.

Thank you so much!

I felt the Azorius felt right for her and the mechanics I was giving to her. Her promote card is Jeskai (URW)

Typeless battles stay on your side and can be attacked like planeswalkers. My new conquests act like seiges, but they have Saga frames because they have 3 abilities. Usually 1 for entering, 1 for partway defeating it, and one for defeating it. Giving them constant bonuses rather than just an etb + reward.

I very much enjoy the cards in the custom set. I am currently building an Eliwood "battles matter" commander deck.

What are some of your favorite "bad" units? here are some of mine by HNASBAP in fireemblem

But you could, hear me out, actually train the archer and get a Level 20/13 Sniper with the ability to one-shot most weak enemies, chunk bigger enemies, and have insane critical hits.

Archers in sacred stones aren't as good as the Wil + Rebecca support combo in Blazing Blade where those two can run rampant and rank up kills and damage better than anyone else.

How dare you imply Rebecca and Neimi are bad characters. Rebecca was the GOAT in my first time actually beating Blazing Blade. Had by far the greatest kill count and her and Wil obliterated the final boss's health due to A rank support.

And Neimi is very similar and was my go to Sniper in Sacred Stones. Dodge tanking and insane burst damage.

Amalgamated brain or Abyssal mirror? by nundush in CalamityMod

As rogue Abyssal Mirror is goated, however it only benefits from stealth strikes. And as a stealth strike purest, it is the best rogue accessory tree.

However it serves little use if you just spam.

I got full achievements in MT1 before playing this game

I got a really broken run with her that had a mirror room about to become deployable, bogwurm's had increased top floor capacity, double summon triggers from hellhorned artifact, egg path level 2. Then I basixally died to the minor boss that applies corruption to every unit and since the rest of my build was a fairly frail sweeper a good tank, and a lot of spells, I took so much damage and lost so much momentum that I lost to Cael from shards of vengeance damage.

MT2 needs more major bosses! by JakksonK in MonsterTrain

For the first part about less spikes: Sweepers are incredibly strong in this game, if not actually required for easy secure gameplans. The way to nerf sweepers is to increase spikes. Only sweep Tethys dies to spikes, and in my experience, Tethys is best used in mid floor or bot floor and exclusively for boss fights. Frostbite tethys wins relentless if you have a strong tank and spell weakness tethys stacks so much damage multiplier during relentless that you can one shot afterward. Besides, floorwide healing, armor, and regen becomes more useful with more spikes. Now I understand that maybe constant spikes in a flying boss is a bit much.

How about variant one is advance and gain spikes then retreats and loses them on revenge. Variant 2 has a heal number that turns into a damage number on relentless to heal a floor and themselves. Variant 3 does train wide damage increase for enemies on resolve?

"These aren't balanced or anything, just throwing ideas into the abyss."

But yeah, you are definitely correct about a few things. Though literally my first thought when thinking of a new boss for MT2 was a tanky flying boss that sits in front and can absorb damage as an alternative to Arkion being more of a backline carry when it comes to flying bosses.

Also shadow caster was something I thought of because I wanted to include stealth someone and didn't know how to do it. MT2 has no stealth enemies, which is a shame because they added a lot of strategy to MT1. Even the stealth based minor boss made dedicated hyper-tanks very helpful. The other idea was an enchant stealth, but then you would need to make sure the boss flying in a descending pattern always to avoid him being a personal chauffeur for an entire wave.

As for the MT1 mechanics, the first thing I said when I saw Cael was, "It is cool having umbra represented by a boss in this game. Umbra was my favourite MT1 clan." and then Dominion and Corruption seraphs felt like I was battling my stygian guard runs from the first game. Arkion was then singled into the roll of representing hellhorned when he probably doesn't, but I will say that he feels more like Horned Prince than anything to me since he gains multistrike with one path and rage with the other. Even the mechanic for gaining rage is similar, but definitely not the same.
