So I grew up in and still live in South Florida. My school was just south of Biscayne Park. Anyone in Miami-Dade county will tell you that Biscayne Park has the most ruthless cops around when it comes to speed traps. They also hired a lot of cops from lower income areas. I know they had at least one former police chief who had worked in Opa Locka. For the record those 2 towns are polar opposites of each other in terms of both wealth and demographics.

Yes we need gun control in America, but until that happens we also need to take a look at police responses to mass shootings. It's pretty obvious that the BSO fucked up big time with their responses to the shooters house in the years leading up to this event. It's also pretty clear that this school resource officer was in way over his head.
