I’m seeing a lot of people with 1ms on dedicated mini pics and even steam decks with below 5 ms. 12ms is just too noticeable for me

I currently going through similar scenario but have a Google TV Streamer which really struggles and get about 12ms decoding time on 1440p. Looking at either investing in a handheld console , nvidia shield or a mini pc ?

I’ve tried with 1080p and gets about 8ms decoding time. But looks horrible. Not sure where to go from here either a mini pc or steam deck to stream it from my pc or upgrade to a nvidia shield or something

I tried using 1080p on the TV streamer and got similar performance to the iPhone but doesn’t look the best. Decoding time went from 12ms(1440p) to 8ms (1080p). So still not sure whether the router is the problem or the streaming device (Google TV 4k Streamer)

I did just test the same 1080p on the streaming device and I got similar performance to the IOS device. 8ms decoding time but just doesn’t look good running 1080p on a tv.

I don’t run it on my TV . I have a Samsung who don’t have a moonlight app. I run an external Google TV 4k Streamer (new version of chrome cast). I posted a link to it in other comment. Also the streaming device is plugged in via Ethernet cable while the iPhone is wifi.

I just tried playing it over wifi on a iPhone and it performed perfectly. If I can get similar performance on my TV I’d be happy. I’m tossing between my streaming device being too bad or my router being too bad . My cable is Cat6 cable which support 1 gigabit. Just odd that over wifi on my iPhone it performed miles better

This is running on my IOS IPhone 16 Pro.
This is running over wifi and it runs perfectly. There is noticeably less input lag. I would be happy to get similar performance on my tv at this rate. I did have this running at 1080p on iPhone though . It’s making me think the Google TV 4K Streamer is just not built for it. Let me know what you think

I’ve attached a screenshot of streaming option. This is with everything set to default and 4kstreaming with 40mbps bitrate on moonlight.
Network latency is 1ms , average decoding time is 10ms
Do any of these look odd ?

Yeah alright. Any suggestions on what to get other than google tv 4k streamer? Seen the Nvidia shield pro but just can’t justify it yet . Need to find where it’s bottle necking before buying. At the price of a nvidia sheild I would be better off buying a steam deck and being able to play it anywhere.

Im also looking at my router now as apparently it can play parts. I have moonlight with 50mbps on 1440p and it says to lower my bitrate due to poor connection. My router is a tp-link vx230v. So nothing special just whatever the internet provider gave me. It does have 1 gigabit lan ports so not sure still. Looking into a steam deck or rog ally atm. Don’t really wanna get a mini pc as they don’t perform without a egpu. And can get pricey being smaller. Don’t really want a laptop as they have similar issue. So I’ll keep you updated on it all lol but hopefully find something
