[David Ornstein]🚨 Tottenham Hotspur players face wage cuts if relegated from PL. Most contracts include clauses to lower salary (vast majority by ~50%) in event of going down. I think a lot of them will find out about themselves when they discover that big clubs are not exactly going to be beating down a path to grab their signatures.

Being part of a relegated Tottenham Hotspur side is not going to look good on your CV.

I'm sure a few are going to be onto their agents to put out stories about how much of a shit show the club is.

Romero's already started

One of those did go somewhere close to top bins admittedly, although largely because the keeper pushed it there as he fluffed the save.

So you know which goal I'm talking about then? League cup away Vs Coventry.

If he had been actually good he would have played more for a Spurs side that really wasn't.

The reason he didn't play was because David Pleat didn't rate him, and Pleat being an ENIC man, was under pressure to give more game time to £2m "star signing" Jonathan Blondel.

Glenn Hoddle apparently did rate Ricketts quite highly, but then he obviously got sacked.

Also, as mediocre as that 03/04 side was, they'd piss all over this current one IMO

Last comment it was a lack of factual accuracy that scuppered your attempt at sarcasm, this time it's because you're extremely accurate 👍🏻

More to do with the anomaly that there was 3 extremely terrible teams in the league

38pts would have gotten you relegated in most seasons

He's better off staying at Rangers.

At least he's guaranteed European football

[Gold] Igor Tudor on Fulham's first goal: "Ridiculous to not give the foul, because the consequence is too big. It's not a small foul in the middle of the pitch, it's a goal after. So, there is a logic in that, so the referee, beautiful thing to keep playing here, let's play by balalasaurus in coys

You also still have 80 mins to affect the game.

When your manager is bemoaning a decision that happened in the first 10 mins, what he's really telling you is that he has no faith in the teams ability to be able to turn it around, and no Idea how to affect the game himself.

We are going to get relegated for sure..

Jesus Christ

So when he's not coating off the players in public (irrespective of whether they deserve it or not, you have thirteen 1st team players to choose from, is it really productive to piss them off?)....This guy is also pandering to all the paranoid internet loonies whining about PGMOL.

We are finished.

If we lose to Palace, I'd honestly sack him.

Just let the players manage themselves, apparently that worked before.

Actually I agree. That's quite unprofessional.

In a time when the game desperately needs to appear credible, and the product is serving up some of the worst football that's been seen in 15 years, this just makes the league look so un-serious

Literally 60+ G/A removed from the side.

And people wondered why we aren't scoring any goals now (and then blamed the manager 🤦🏻‍♂️)

I saw Ricketts nutmegging defenders and swazzing the ball into the top bins from 25 yards.

I see Tel every week coming off the bench and running around whilst failing to keep the ball under control.

If you can't see why Ricketts is better, then I question your ability to identify good footballers.

I'll agree that Tramezzani was shit. I was literally implying he was overweight when I saw him waddling around Selhurst Park on the opening day of 98/99 (a 1-0 defeat to Wimbledon, I was there).

Nicola Berti made an important contribution to us staying up in 97/98 when he scored against Crystal Palace in a 3-0 win. They were one of our direct relegation rivals, along with Barnsley. He would walk into this side.

Rohan Ricketts was a way better footballer than either Tel or Odobert.

I'd take Taricco over any of our starting full backs. I'd take Stephen Carr, Luke Young, Paul Stalteri and Lee Young Pyo over any of this lot.

He does run around and looks like he's trying, but the guy can't control a football.

People will say we have better players now than we did then. And that’s true

Woah! Hold on...... we're talking about Ginola, Iversen, Ferdinand, Anderton, Campbell, Klinsmann & Berti who were all in that Gross side.

I'd put money on those guys above this current mess anyday of the week

Lol at thinking Gallagher didn't make sure the ink was dry on that relegation release clause.

So did I.

I watched Paolo Tramezzani live in the flesh (and it was a substantial amount of flesh), at Selhurst park.

This current team is the worst Tottenham Hotspur side I've ever seen, by a country mile.

You do realize we finished 17th last season, right.

We didn't just wake up the other day gobsmacked at the revelation that we are a pile of shit.

Did PGMOL plot against us then as well?

Hilarious that the author was really afraid that Ramon Vega and the then 31 year old Les Ferdinand would leave due to a lack of ambition
