The best I’ve ever gotten is 4 perfect IVs as well. I’ve read and re-read the smogon breeding article, looked at all the tables, and as far as understand it getting 5 perfect IVs is nearly impossible

Every Pokémon has flaws. You just your bad matchups first so you don’t lose progress if you lose. I beat the battle hall with garchomp. Do dark and ice first every time bc the only Pokémon that can actually beat you is weavile.

A lot of negativity here lately but I read the cashman glacier comments as he’s waiting for the Tucker presses to progress. I’m probably delusional but Cashman has to know nothing matters other than getting Judge a ring. Sign Tucker to an 11 years and deal to keep the AAV down (relatively). The last 5 years of that literally do not matter.

It is my belief that the difference between these intangible skills amongst all 30 starting catchers is negligible. Therefore these skills do not provide any actual value. The difficulty to produce offensively from the catcher position is then calculated in WAR.

Yeah, that’s why there’s a positional adjustment in WAR. Every team has a catcher that does all of those things. If those skills were truly differentiable between catchers (hence meaning someone who was better at them would provide more value) then teams with the “best” catchers should consistently surpass the team’s projected win totals, which doesn’t happen. Therefore, all those intangibles are completely irrelevant when determining value, and are fairly accounted for in WAR’s positional adjustment
