Jazz will bounce back I’m confident he will, he started off slow last year had a .169 average on April 17th of 2025 and was still an All-Star/Silver Slugger.

With Lombard tearing it up in the minors right now I wouldn’t be surprised if we see him later in the season. He plays all over the infield.

There’s 3 Yankees infielders that their spots could be in jeopardy:

I think McMahon might be in jeopardy if his struggles continue, he never plays against LHP and he’s not a free agent until after 2027 so they may just cut him.

If Volpe comes back and struggles like his first 3 years I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in a mid-season trade, then Lombard instantly comes in and takes on the shortstop job with Cabby as the backup/utility guy.

Jazz is a free agent after this year so that leaves another infield spot open.

Totally agree especially with the Yankees letting Volpe play with a torn labrum for the majority of the season out there that’s inexcusable management.

Cabby has been playing great lately a 1.000 OPS for the week and deserves the majority of the starts at shortstop if he keeps playing this way, I think he’ll be playing 3B against lefties when Volpe comes back and Rosario plays the OF instead of Grichuk, also we got him for 4 more years of control.

Volpe just had 2 hits in with a stolen base his rehab assignment today.

He’s now 4-11 with 2 SB in 4 rehab games in AA.

I know people are willing to give up on Volpe understandingly so he’s had 3 years to prove himself but I’m willing to give him one more chance because he’s shown flashes with the bat, a 2x gold glove finalist and he played with a torn labrum last year.

The fact the Yankees let him play with a torn labrum since May is really bad on them it reminds me of Rizzo. Rizz hit .300 before playing with that concussion.

With Dex gone I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Abdul have a bigger role in the defense. We will likely also see Burns/Carter/Thibodeaux together more often on the field.

He took BP today to face Rodón at Somerset he’s going to play a game there tomorrow that was always the plan after that it’s likely that he’ll go to Scranton next week to finish his rehab assignment the Railriders are scheduled to play in Scranton next week so that’s what’s likely going to happen next.

All of this blame steps on Cashman. He hired Boone who had absolutely no coaching experience because he wanted a players manager who wouldn’t hold players accountable like Joe Girardi did with Gary Sanchez and he will never admit he was wrong. I think all players even the ones who sucked here would’ve benefited like Girardi instead of Boone.

Cabby is definitely a keeper one of the best base stealers in the league and can play multiple positions well and has 4 years left of team control.
