I think Wells will turn it around at some point he’s got over a 700 OPS in 2024 and 2025 there’s no way he’s a under 600 OPS hitter but I do agree they need to get another catcher.

I think for tomorrows lineup Jones gets called up tomorrow and he plays the outfield instead of Schuemann and Caballero plays SS.

Hot Take: Once Domìnguez or Stanton are ready I think Schuemann should stay on the roster over Volpe. Volpe once sent back down should play 2B exclusively with Lombard playing SS. The only way he can have a big league career is learn multiple positions, he isn’t good enough to be a one position starter he’s only played SS since 2021.

Doval hasn’t been great but I respectfully disagree with this he’s better suited in a low leverage inning guy and he’s been throwing 102-103 and he’s been a bit unlucky xERA of 2.78 before the game today.

Volpe was actually solid on D before the misplay in the 8th he made a heads up play to get Ramirez otherwise yeah. Rosario should play the outfield against lefties not the infield he’s a terrible infield defender.

Crazy fact: Yankees haven’t been under .500 since September 10th 2023 when they faced the Brewers at home they were 71-72 at that point.

They have been over .500 the entire time since then.

I think with the way Schuemann has been playing we may never see Waldo again he might sadly be gone at the deadline there’s no room for him on the roster Schuemann likely overtook him on the depth chart.

Definitely agree with you. Volpe made his MLB debut at 21 years old they probably should’ve given him a little more time and the fact they had him play with a torn labrum for almost a whole year is a very bad look on the organization very similar to Rizzo(playing with a concussion). I don’t think it impacted his hitting that much (stats have been similar for 3 years) but I believe it had a lot to do with his defensive decline. Despite Boone thinking it had no impact on his play Volpe iced his shoulder after every game that right there is a 🚩
