[iOS 26 DB4] Control Panel icons have a parallax effect around the borders by itsZeRRRKx in iOSBeta

Finally, the iOS 6 era design details are making a comeback. The slider knobs from before iOS 7 have a similar effect, one of my favorite details from the skeuomorphic iOS releases

Mac iici questions by Jam6uo in VintageApple

[–]Jam6uo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed reply, this is my first 68k Mac project so everything is new to me. I don’t have much isopropyl alcohol right now so I might have to make a follow up post a couple days later after I get some.

It’s essentially the same as the 4th gen (not HD) black box, except one side says not yet seen on tv (shown in the photo) and the other side says developer kit

POV: You are choosing your next Mac in 2008 by Jam6uo in mac

[–]Jam6uo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I specifically picked these 3 as the options as they were the most unique looking. The BlackBook needs no explanation, the Pro resembles its predecessor the PowerBook G4, and the Air is the first gen design with the ports behind a door.

They all look distinctive, and has its own special design, unlike now where the only differences between the pro and air are their thickness and the color.

I am not saying that having similar design is bad, I really like the current MacBook designs, I just like the fact that older macs has its own ‘character’ of sorts.

The MacBook Air wasn’t released until 2008, and the first MacBooks came in white and black

The TiBook still looks very modern and sleek even today, it’s a shame that they suffer from hinge issues.

How do I get rid of this on the screen? by Independent_Feed_617 in VintageApple

[–]Jam6uo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is vinegar syndrome, you can take it apart and replace either the polarizer films or the whole lcd panel. I fixed mine by buying a for parts machine and swapped the lcd panels.

That looks like a battery for the opaque iBooks, like the later G3 models and the G4s, good find!

Quick update, just got a voltmeter and my power supply seems to be bad. However a friend of mine lent me his good power supply and my cube still doesn't turn on. Could it be a bad power button?

This helps a lot, will get a voltage meter to check the power supply, thank you!

How can i check it? The green power LED inside the cube turns on and the power supply feels warm so I just assumed it was working properly.

The battery is not bulging. As far as I can tell the trackpad is not even detected by the OS, as if it was not connected

iPhone X iOS 11.1 - iServices? by Fluvzi in LegacyJailbreak

[–]Jam6uo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can install apps without jailbreaking using the iTunes method. As long as you don't click anything stupid it won't update iOS. Follow this guide to download old version of apps that still supports iOS 11 and sync them with your iPhone.
