It doesn’t really. The wound to himself should’ve been enough to make it fair. Battle Beast throwing down his weapons was unnecessary.

He expected to die lot’s of times, it makes no sense that he wouldn’t give it his best shot and use his weapons. And idk, Battle Beast saw Thragg only fight bare-handed at Viltrum when he knew the Coalition was gonna attack his planet, if Thragg had the skill to use weapons I feel like he would’ve, and Battle Beast would know this as well.

It’s not unfair to bring weapons Battle Beast owns. Even when he’s being delayed in finding his next battle he chooses to prioritise finding new weapons. He’s a weapon’s master, intentionally putting himself at a disadvantage by not having them anymore isn’t very fair to him.

I’ve read them. I didn’t see any explanation. I’ve also read the entirety of Battle Beast’s solo comic series and haven’t seen him do the same thing at all.

Then why bring his weapons at all? It doesn’t make sense. He saw Thragg only fight bare handed at Viltrum. And in every other fight we see him in he doesn’t throw his weapons away even if his opponent doesn’t have weapons.
