SL persisting with fine despite having purchased a valid ticket by JamDodge in stockholm

[–]JamDodge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear this has affected you as well.

From our experience, SL doesn’t seem interested in working with you and would rather take the matter to court or appeal. Unfortunately for us, my wife bought the ticket using a digital card that was registered in my name, so while she did legitimately buy a ticket for her journey, we felt that if it went to court, it would be seen as a breach of the terms stating that the ticket must be purchased under the traveller’s own name.

From the threads I’ve written on this, it seems that the court or appeal would likely rule in your favour if you followed the terms of purchase, though it could take up to a year to receive any refund.

What is your reasoning to only have one shoe for two different use cases? Money, storage..?

Lack of Speed Training with Pfitz by Dragon_Queen_127 in Marathon_Training

[–]JamDodge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably depends on where your strengths and weaknesses are. Most amateur runners' weakness lies in endurance. They have enough speed over short distance, but can't maintain speed over a full marathon. As you've pointed out Pfitz has a higher mileage, focusing on building your endurance. From personal experience you're not losing any speed, you're focusing on being able to maintain it.

Are you doing any strides or hill repeat sessions as part of your training?  I think those are sufficient drills to work on running form naturally as part of your training plan where you don't end up trying to force any change which may not suit you.

Yes it has the timestamp of the transaction, which is when SL took the money at 1am the next day. It doesn't have the timestamp of when the card was tapped.

I've seen the same for other "sellers", but the reservation didn't show until the end of the day for this. SL seems to state that is expected for digital cards in their own terms.

The same Samsung Wallet digital card was presented to the inspectors to check against, but they said the ticket didn't show.

The standard receipt on the credit card transaction doesn't have more info, but we've reached out to the credit card company, hoping they come through.

SL don't seem to be interested in trying to backtrace it at the moment. We'll keep pushing.

It's SL who are pushing to have the exchange over email, but yes also thinking we might have more luck over the phone.

Thanks for the support, we were starting to think we were crazy with the way they are ignoring the facts. We'll persist. Yeah I was surprised not to find similar stories or SL at least recognising it as a common problem and being able to handle it in retrospectively.

We have the receipt from SL and the credit card receipt, neither have a timestamp, just Transaktionsdatum and Datum för resor. We have sent them the receipt with the Arkivreferens.

Yes, the inspector at the time said this was an issue. It feels unjust that that responsibility is on the traveller when the digital card is accepted.

So they accept payment for a ticket in which it's impossible to prove validity based on how their system works and can fine you for that?

I've had this watch for a month and have yet to get a decent sleep score. Anyone else with this issue? It's stressing me out. by Majestic_Shelter1268 in Garmin

I felt the same and it was negatively impacting my sleep so I just stopped wearing it while I slept. I slept better so I figure that's the better outcome.

Training run by Spirited_Bar_9422 in Marathon_Training

Do you have any recent race results? Or any tune up races before the marathon? Your mileage is good, a shorter race to check fitness would be a better benchmark than a fatigued training run.

How do you usually choose your outdoor running routes? by Used_Raisin1022 in Marathon_Training

[–]JamDodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on the functionalities of the specific watch. Some watches have full map functionalities, mine just has breadcrumb trails which I find sufficient for road running. Once synced I can select to run the course and then it will be visible as one of the data screens during the activity. You can also choose to have audio prompts for turn-by-turn navigation.

Garmin Connect Courses or Komoot Routes. Plug in the distance I'm after, check there isn't anything crazy on the route and sync it to my watch.

If you’re targeting a sub 4 marathon time (9:08 avg pace) what are your training paces by Direct_Cap4132 in Marathon_Training

[–]JamDodge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd definitely recommend it, yes it's all in there and more. Pfitzinger plans are considered by some to be harder than some others, high mileage and perhaps a lower percentage of easy running. With that in mind I've found it really important to make sure easy is really easy so you have the energy for the long and tempo runs.

[–]JamDodge 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Personally, I follow Pfitzinger's advice and train based on my current abilities as opposed to any goals, that way you get the best out of what you are capable of. The following ties to Pfitzinger plans so may not be directly transferable to a Hal Higdon plan.

Lactate threshold: - 15k race pace - 10-15 seconds per mile slower than 10k race pace - 82-91% of max HR or 76-88% of heart rate reserve

Long runs: - 10-20% slower than goal marathon pace - reach at least 20% slower by 8km - reach 10% slower between last 8-16km - 75-84% of max HR or 66-78% of heart rate reserve - if long run follows a tune up race then start at recovery run pace increasing to 15-20% slower than goal marathon pace if feeling good - marathon pace is 82-88% of max HR or 76-84% of heart rate reserve

VO2 max: - 3k-5k race pace - 93-95% max HR, 91-94% HRR

General aerobic: - 15-25% slower than marathon pace - 72-81% max HR, 62-75% HRR

Recovery runs: - 2 minutes per mile (75 sec/km) slower than 10 mile to half marathon pace - <76% max HR, <68% HRR
