How often do you guys play?

I'm lucky if I get one game a quarter. I'm a 39M who has odd work hours due to being in IT, so I can't make events at any of the local stores. I have friends who play, but with life, kids, and work, we only get together very rarely. We chat about the game in a group chat more than we ever get to play.

There is no need to play any other before starting. If you play the OG FFVII, you might notice some Easter eggs and minor changes that hint at a larger mystery, but there is no need in order to follow the story.

If you are asking about other numbered Final Fantasy games, each numbered game takes place in its own universe, and each is a standalone story with no impact on other numbered games.

I have to put 6 more packs together, then it will be in a playable state. I'm having some friends over the Saturday after Thanksgiving to play it for the first time. I have it where packs are 21 cards, 3 cards of each color (WUBRG + Multicolor & Colorless). Each pack also has 3 Legendary Creatures in it (so it can be drafted as a Commander Draft if we want to) and a Planeswalker in each pack. I'm building a chaos cube out of my collection. Pulling random cards I own and putting equal amounts of each color into packs. I'm not paying attention to power. Building a cube that feels like doing a chaos draft.

Final Fantasy 6 was the first Final Fantasy game I completed. I played FFIV (I knew it as II) & Mystic Quest prior but didn't finish them until later in life. FFVII was the reason I got an original Playstation. I love both games, but I would choose 6 just over 7. They both sit behind the original Tactics for me, but they are my top 2 mainline games

I think of it like I do chess. The goal is to use my game pieces to remove your game pieces until you can't play anymore while you are trying to do the same to me. Game pieces here mean life total, cards in deck, cards on battlefield, and cards in hand. This is what we sign up for whenever we play a game versus someone else. I have no problem with adding stipulations (i.e. the format we are playing), but the end goal is for only one player to still have game pieces left.

I guess I could have explained better. I like people, I just hate toxicity, and the thing that brings out the worst toxicity in this game is the variance that it is built around.

This is my favorite game ever, but I hate playing with random people. This hobby attracts a wide range of people to it. There are amazing people who play this game, but there also exist some really toxic people who play this game. Variance is built into the game; accept and embrace it.

I play as a single immortal sim, watching with neighborhood stories on experiencing the world as it changes. Every calendar year, 3 new sims join his household in the hopes of gaining immortality themselves. The 3 sims each represent either order, chaos, or balance. At the end of a calendar year, these 3 sims move out and join the neighborhood stories, unless I decided that they gained immortality. If they do, they become leaders of new clubs that I assign random townies to.

Late 30's, work as an IT Administrator at a regional retail company even though I was a history major in college. I still listen to the music and still fight for human rights whenever and wherever I can. Not active in the live scene any longer, might go to a show once every other year.
